The Bookish Scenarios Tag

bookish scenarios

So normally I’d be doing Book Tag Thursdays hosted by Michelle over at Book Adventures, but her tag today was the I Love Spring Tag. Well I’m not feeling particularly “Springy” today since here in North Dakota it started snowing. The not fun kind of snow where it’s cold and windy and blowing snow all over. Sorry, Michelle!

So I’m just opting to do a random other book tag unrelated to Michelle’s meme, The Bookish Scenarios Tag.

This tag was created by BookTuber Lindsay Hearts Books, so let’s get started!my page divider1.) You have to get rid of all your books and you can only keep one from each of these genres – contemporary, fantasy, non-fiction and one other genre of your choosing. What books do you keep?

What an awful question……The hardest one will be Fantasy since that’s my FAVORITE genre.

Contemporary“Sharp Objects” by Gillian Flynn

(Yes it’s a mystery/thriller BUT it’s also set in the present day so it counts!)

Fantasy“A Storm of Swords” by George R.R. Martin

(it’s my favorite in the ASOIAF series and the longest)

Non-Fiction“Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society” by Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, & Michael Jan Friedman

(I own a SIGNED copy of this because I met members of the team so you’re dang right I’m keeping it!)

Horror“Slasher Girls & Monster Boys” stories selected by April Genevieve Tucholke

(it’s an anthology with some SCARY stories in it and I love it)

2.) You’re at the bookstore and you hear a teenager telling their mom they don’t like to read, but their mom insists they pick something. You walk over and recommend a book you think is great for people who aren’t big on reading – what book is it?

Just kidding I wouldn’t be that violent!

This actually depends on a lot of things, like exactly how old they are and their gender kind of…..

So let’s just say I’d recommend “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness since I lack a real answer for this one. This book is fantastic and I believe it’s a great read for anyone, especially those not big on reading.

3.) You’re not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which book do you read to put yourself in a great mood?

Yeah, I don’t exactly read a random book to cheer me up, that’s kind of odd. I read whatever I’m reading really.

BUT if I must choose something that I COULD read to cheer me up I’d read “Inkspell” by Cornelia Funke which is the second book in the Inkworld Trilogy. It’s such a magical book and it definitely would cheer me up.

4.) You go back in time for a day to your child-hood years. What book would you most likely have caught yourself reading?

I hate to be so predictable but I’d definitely be reading Harry Potter or maybe even the Magic Treehouse series.

5.) Your friend surprises you with a 4 day trip and you have 1 hour to pack. Which book do you bring to read on the way?

Honestly it’d probably be whatever I was currently reading, I don’t see why going a trip makes me have to pick a random different book? I’d actually probably just bring my Kindle and then I can read whatever I wanted, suckers.

6.) Your house has been robbed! Don’t worry – everyone is safe, but your bookshelf has been raided. What’s the book you really hope is safe?

Once again I’m going with the entire Harry Potter series, I’d cry if those were gone just because I’ve had them for so long. Also my signed copies of “Ghost Hunting” and “Destination Truth” just because they’re signed and have sentimental value.

7.) Your friend borrows a book and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven’t noticed b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs?

None of those, because those last two options are actually really rude to me personally. I would NEVER ask someone to buy me another copy just because it’s in bad condition and I certainly wouldn’t harm someone else’s property like that just to make a point, especially a book!

And I couldn’t just pretend not to notice, I’d just say something to them about the condition they returned it in and let them know they cannot borrow from me anymore if that’s how they’ll be treating my books.

Boom. Problem solved.

Thank you for tagging me! I was surprised when I saw I was tagged because I only get notifications when a specific page or post is tagged, like my about page, so I was reading through this and was like “oh that’s me!” haha 😀

No problem and I’m sorry about that! I’ll have to remember to tag one of your pages next time so you get a notification!
