I was tagged by Ashleigh over at A Frolic Through Fiction to do this book tag, so thanks Ashleigh! Make sure you guys head over to check out her awesome blog and also her answers for this tag!

1.) You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

I’m a mood reader and I never have any trouble picking out what I want to read next. I sit and look at my options and say “Oh, I feel like reading that”, and that’s about it. If I feel like a fantasy book then that’s what I’ll read!

2.) You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

Usually I’m committed, especially if I bought the book because then I have not only time but also money invested into it. The book would have to be pretty bad for me to just quit it anyways not to mention I have a hard time convincing myself it’s ok to quit a book if I don’t like it.

3.) The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

You bet your butt I’ll try and catch up! I’m no quitter! Maybe sometimes though….  Anyways if I’m trying to play some major catch up I’ll probably just read some shorter books in the 200 page range. “The Grownup” by Gillian Flynn and “A Monster Calls” by Patrick Ness are two examples of GREAT books that are actually really short.

4.) The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?

I guess it depends on how drastically they differ in appearance, I’m pretty OCD about my sets of things matching. I like when things match so it would probably bug me a lot but it wouldn’t be enough for me to go buy copies of the same books.

I can wear mis-matching socks but if my book covers are different? No way.

5.) Every one and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

I think most of my friends and family wouldn’t agree with my opinions if they actually read the book, so then I would torture my boyfriend by making him listen to my book complaints, haha. If I don’t have anyone to physically talk to then I’d definitely be on my blog here or Goodreads discussing my feelings with the wonderful people of the blogosphere!

6.) You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I shut the book and quit reading immediately, I will not get book feels in public! I refuse! I’ll get a hold of myself and go somewhere private and continue reading and let the tears out if need be.

7.) A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads? Cry in frustration?!?!?!

I don’t have time for re-reads so if I really had to I’d go onto Goodreads and read the synopsis, otherwise I’d just jump into the book. Most books recap a little on things from the prior book so I usually don’t have any trouble.

8.) Reading ADD. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

I suppose I could go see what the hot new book would be at the time and pretty much go buy it. Or search on Goodreads to find something that sounds interesting and go buy that.

I don’t think it would be that hard for me to find a good book.

9.) There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

First of all I’d have to see how much money I have in the budget for pleasure buying. If I have money to spend then I usually limit myself to buying 3 books at a time if they’re at a regular price. If there’s stuff on sale I can’t promise I’ll stay in control.

10.) After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

Usually I read them right away but if I have other priorities they could sit there for a few weeks. If I get books that I decide I want to read more than those books it could be months. I have books that have been waiting years….it happens.

Thanks! And yay mood readers! I think it’s so much easier to just pick something based on mood rather than anything else. 🙂

Yes exactly, I don’t want to force myself to read something I don’t feel like reading.
