Loreva’s Questions

1.) Which TV shows do you watch?

I don’t really watch TV a whole lot because I just feel I don’t have a ton of extra time for it……but I do have a ton of shows I LOVE! Supernatural, Black Sails, Firefly, Sons of Anarchy, True Blood, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones (obviously), and Orange is the New Black.

I have NOT finished all of these shows so no spoilers please!

2.) What was the first book you ever read and was it the book that sparked your interest in reading?

Honestly I have no idea, I don’t remember any of the children’s books I had when I was 6 or 7. The only book I remember reading for the first time was “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”. So yes the Harry Potter series DEFINITELY sparked my interest in reading!

3.) Which do you prefer: Reading or Writing?

Reading hands down, but I do really love writing as well. When I was in the 3rd and 4th grades I won a writing contest, I was pretty proud. My stories were about….horses. I had a problem, I REALLY loved horses.

4.) Which is your favorite season, reading wise?

Summer. I get to take my hammock out, sit in it, and read. Well as long as it isn’t way too hot outside…..

5.) What bookish challenges are you going to attempt next year?

Besides the Goodreads reading challenge? No idea. I’m still super new to the book blogging community and I’m not really aware of any other challenges sooooooo. If you guys have any suggestions I’d love to hear them!

6.) How do you arrange your bookshelf (color, genre, author etc)?

Do you want the honest answer? I don’t. Mostly I put them wherever I feel like it and of course keep all of a series together. I suppose I sort by author though.

7.) What was the last book you read? Did you like it?

“Soundless” by Richelle Mead and no I didn’t like it. Sorry my review is taking a while! I’ve been busy with the impending holidays but hopefully it’ll be up soon!

8.) Have you ever been on vacation outside the borders of your continent?

No unfortunately I have not. I’m hoping maybe one day I can though, I have distant relatives who live in England and I’d love to go there!

9.) Are you interested in any musical instruments or sports?

Hell no to the sports I am the polar opposite of a sporty person. I did take guitar lessons for a while but I am in no way a guitar player and I also played the flute in my high school band. I rocked the flute not the guitar. It’s funny how that happened……

10.) What is your usual reading time?

Honestly, whenever I get time. Mostly anywhere between 6:00-10:00 at night though.

Ashley’s Questions

1.) What has been your favorite read of the year?

I’m just going to say it’s a tie between “A Darker Shade of Magic” by V.E. Schwab and “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness. I really cannot choose.

2.) What is your favorite food?

Pizza, not even any competition there.

3.) What is your favorite social media website?

Pinterest. I have a severe Pinterest addiction…. I have over 62,000 pins and over 27,000 followers….so yeah.

4.) Do you have any other blogs?

Nope! Just The Sassy Book Geek!

5.) What’s your favorite holiday?

Halloween hands down! Seriously there’s no competition there at all, just like pizza.

6.) Who are one of your favorite ships?

I’m not really a shipper but I’ll have to say Aragorn and Arwen from “The Lord of the Rings”. I could ship them all day long. This ship is my top favorite out of all of my minor ships.

7.) What and where is your favorite bookstore?

Where I live we pretty much have zero bookstores, we recently got a new one but it isn’t very big. So when I go visiting family in Wisconsin I seize the opportunity to go to Books-A-Million! Definitely my favorite bookstore.

8.) Do you have any pets? If yes, what kind and what is/are their name(s)?

I actually had a dog named Duchess but she passed away at the beginning of this month, it’s definitely taking some time to get used to not having a dog anymore when people ask these questions…..But I also have two tremendously derpy cats named Oscar and Mittens. Seriously the word derp describes them perfectly.

9.) What’s your favorite Christmas-themed book?

I can’t even think of any remotely Christmas related right now, I don’t do Christmas books. Christmas isn’t my favorite holiday whatsoever, so it makes sense to me NOT to read Christmas themed books. Sorry!

10.) What book do you love recommending to people?

Even though I recently finished reading and reviewing it I love recommending “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness. Seriously if you haven’t read it do it. Do it now!

Michelle’s Questions

1.) Favorite book you’ve read in 2015?

Once again I’m picking “A Darker Shade of Magic” by V.E. Schwab and “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness.

2.) Best movie you’ve seen in 2015?

I’m going to say “Ant-Man”, I really love Marvel movies and they’re always fantastic.

3.) Are you going to participate in any reading challenges in 2016?

No idea, I procrastinate that kind of stuff. It’s not something I’m thinking about right now.

4.) How many books are currently on your TBR-list?

247, which isn’t really THAT many considering how big other people’s TBRs are. Granted there’s stuff I want to read that I haven’t added to it yet officially. Either way I’m OK with it growing.

5.) How many books do you want to read next year?

I think I’ll shoot for AT LEAST 50 books, this year I started my Goodreads challenge in July so I had to aim low with 35.

6.)  If you could have one fictional animal as your pet, which one would it be?

Well I’d say a Phoenix would be pretty sweet but I’m not sure how well that would blow over. As a back up fictional animal pet I’d just want a cat that talks. Talking cats would be cool…..

7.) What was the last book you’ve read? Would you recommend it, why or why not?

“Soundless” by Richelle Mead and no I wouldn’t, I’m not really going to go in depth. It was just disappointing. If you’re really curious you’ll just have to wait for my review to come up. Sorry!

8.) If you could date a fictional character who would you date and why?

I don’t really know if I’d want to actually. My real, non-fictional boyfriend is pretty great. So for the sake of the question though I’d just pick Dimitri from the Vampire Academy series, just because he’s pretty badass.

9.) If you could pick any three books to have right now, what would you choose?

“Nimona” by Noelle Stevenson, “The Traitor Baru Cormorant” by Seth Dickinson, & “Half the World” by Joe Abercrombie.

10.) What bookish gift would you like to receive this Christmas (that’s not a book)?

Hm, I don’t know of anything really. I’d be cool with anything Middle Earth related does that count?

My Questions:

  1. What is a food that you absolutely will not touch, even if your life depended on it?
  2. If you could meet any author, who would you meet?
  3. If you could have the next book in any series right now, which would it be (doesn’t necessarily have to be written yet)?
  4. Would you rather go to the library or the bookstore?
  5. Paperback/Hardcover or E-Book?
  6. New book smell or old book smell?
  7. Do you like reading classics or new books?
  8. If I gave you a bunch of money for books right now, which 4 books would you buy?
  9. Most anticipated book of 2016?
  10. Are there any book-to-movie adaptations you’re anticipating?

Also I’m really looking forward to your review of Soundless, I have been interested in that book but haven’t heard any good things. So I’m unsure if I want to read it or not.
