Top 5 Wednesday: Books I Had Spoiled For Me

lifetime(7)

Top 5 Wednesday is hosted by the T5W group on Goodreads. Make sure to check it out if you’re interested in doing this meme!

This week’s topic is books we had spoiled for us, fortunately for me I haven’t had many spoiled so it was hard to even come up with 5.

5.) The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

The Da Vinci Code (Robert Langdon, #2)

This book was so insanely popular it’s really a miracle if you read this and knew nothing about what would happen. I had this “spoiled” for me because I watched the movie first, I regret nothing. Who doesn’t love Tom Hanks?

4.) Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)

Once again, insanely popular and I watched the movie first. In this case, however, the movie PALES in comparison to the books.

3.) A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

This is the last one I had spoiled via TV okay I promise. I watched the first two seasons of Game of Thrones before I read the entire (for now) ASOIAF series. So while I knew some of the bigger plot twists in “A Game of Thrones” I didn’t have ALL of the information, there’s just so much content in these books there isn’t a way to include it all on the TV show. So I had stuff spoiled but not all of it.

2.) Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews

Flowers in the Attic (Dollanganger, #1)

I got pretty much ALL of V.C. Andrews’ books from my mom so when some of my school friends were reading this I gave it a try too. Needless to say BEFORE I read it they told me a bunch of the fucked up stuff that happens, sooooo I had a lot spoiled for me. I read it anyways.

***Warning: Spoiler for Twilight’s “Breaking Dawn” to follow! If you have yet to read or watch it then you’ve been warned!***

1.) Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer

Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4)

So this is the only book I REALLY had spoiled for me on this list. When I was in the 7th/8th grade all of my friends and I were reading this series, so when I FINALLY got to the 4th book everyone let it slip that Bella gets pregnant and has a baby. Thanks guys for ruining one of the very few plot twists in this series.

That wraps up this weeks Top 5 Wednesday! Are there any books on my list that you had spoiled as well? Also feel free to link your T5W so I can check out your list!

I think you might accidentally spoil Twilight for some people too lol.
The last book of the Divergent series was spoiled for me, but since I wasn’t really sure I wanted to read it, it was ok.

Aw yes you’re right I just updated the post with a spoiler warning, even though at this point in Twilight’s career I think everyone knows what happens haha 🙂 And I’ve heard A TON of people have had Allegiant spoiled for them so I feel pretty lucky

I have been spoiled on quiet a few things for Game of Thrones (the whole series) as all of my friends watch the show and like talking about it. Me on the other hand – I wanted to read the books first. XD

I hear ya! I decided I wanted to be the one with the spoilers, not other people , and read the whole series haha 🙂

Haha, same. XD Then I started reading the series and saw how long it took me to read one book.

But it is soooo worth it! I hope you get through them all, you’ll definitely have time until “Winds of Winter” comes out haha 🙂

Haha, yes it’s really worth it! 😀 That’s why I plan to read the whole series (currently near the end of the second book). “Winds of Winter” seems to be pushed back a lot, so I might even catch up to the series when it’s supposed to come out! We shall see. XD

Oh man, the Percy Jackson movie…we don’t speak of the Percy Jackson movie…Haha! 😀 It’s such a shame because it could have been incredible! I have GOT on my list too (since I’m still a slow poke and haven’t even read the first one yet!). Actually, I’ve been spoiled quite a bit on both the books and the show, but I have only myself to blame! I completely forgot about Flowers in the Attic. That’s one I haven’t read yet and I totally know everything that happens in it already. Great list as usual, Heather! 😀

I agree! Don’t even bring up the SECOND movie, that was just an awful mess. It seems the only way we get spoilers are from movies and tv shows! Thanks Ariana! 🙂

Oh no! Not Flowers in the Attic! I love this book and how creepy and messed up it is. Hopefully you weren’t spoiled for other V.C Andrews books if you’ve read them.

I think I had a few spoilers for the rest of that series but those are the only V.C. Andrews books I’ve read so far, my mom has practically all of them so we’ll see about reading the rest! 🙂
