July Wrap-Up

Top Ten Tuesday(8)

So this month was great as far as reading went but pretty dang awful as far as posts! In my defense though I’ve been going to the lake where I have absolutely zero reception and summer is always a busy time since there’s loads of fun stuff to go do!

Now that it’s August I’m going to try my hardest to get my posting back on track since it will be my one year blogiversary! I really can’t believe it’s already going to be a year since I started book blogging but there will be separate posts about that for sure so for now let’s get this wrap up started!

I have yet to review any of these books ( I know, shame on me) and therefore don’t have an official rating on them because my thoughts aren’t really settled on a few. However, since “Nevernight” will be released in one week my review will be up sometime this week so be on the look out!

Ahhh I’m excited to see what you think of Nevernight! I haven’t read it yet but I’ve got a signed copy from the book launch, and I have high hopes. 🙂

Also can’t wait to see your review for The Crown’s Game. That book was a disappointment to me but some people really loved it.

Hope you like And I Darken!

I actually just put up the review today and I thought Nevernight was amazing so I really hope you love it too! I can definitely see how it won’t be for everyone though since I’ve seen some lower ratings already.
I’m a little confused on my feelings towards The Crown’s Game because it wasn’t great but it wasn’t as bad as the reviews made me think it was going to be. Thanks Reg! 🙂

I’ve never actually read any of Jay Kristoff’s novels, so I just added Nevernight to my reading list! I’m so excited to hear your thoughts on these books. The Crown’s Game and The Darkest Part of the Forest are ones I’ve been holding off on because of the mixed reviews, so I’m particularly excited to hear what you thought. I trust your opinion! 🙂

I’m also eager to hear what you thought of We Were Liars. That’s one that I had a hard time sorting out my feelings on and I’m still thinking about it to this day, so I always love hearing other people’s views on it!

Great post as always, Heather! Hope you enjoy what you’re currently reading; I’m hoping I can squeeze in And I Darken this month myself! Looking forward to seeing more posts from you this month, and happy early blogiversary! 🙂

Nevernight is amazing! I think it’s safe for me to say I love everything he writes so I hope you give him a try!
I held off on buying The Crown’s Game and The Darkest Part of the Forest for the same reason, I’m kind of in the middle about both. They weren’t awful but they didn’t blow me away either. I’d trust your opinion as well since it seems our tastes are very similar!
I’m kind of confused on how I feel about We Were Liars as well. It was good because it’s not often I get all teary with books but also not really impressive. I’m just so confused!
Thanks Ariana, can’t wait to see some more posts from you soon! I haven’t gotten too far into And I Darken so I’m not really sure so far but I hope you can squeeze it in because it’s supposed to be pretty amazing!
      Thanks Ariana! 🙂

I’m next in line for it from my library and I can’t wait to start on it! I also want to give Stormdancer a try soon. This is all your fault, by the way! Haha! 😛
It seems like a lot of people are responding to both like that. I think I’ll give them a try myself, but neither are really going to be a priority. I do definitely want to give something YA by Holly Black a try, just to see if my opinion of her writing is different.
The weird thing for me with We Were Liars was that I absolutely loved it when I first finished it and rated it really highly, but then I started to reconsider my rating a bit the more I thought about it. I think I might’ve given it slightly too high a score, mainly because it also made me teary, which is rare. I definitely liked it but I’m not sure that I really loved it.

I hope you LOVE Nevernight! It’s really a great, unique book! And I hope you get to Stormdancer as well, honestly between those too I like Stormdancer the best!
Yes definitely give those a try anyways, I knew they had mixed reviews but wanted to read them anyways and find out my own opinion!
I’m still up in the air about We Were Liars because I thought it was meh but also cared enough about it because I GOT TEARY TOO! Usually I don’t get teary with books so I think just for that it deserves an extra star. 🙂

Great reading month!!! I can’t wait to read Nevernight. I’m super interested to see what you think of We Were Liars. I absolutely loved it, but I know a lot of people disliked it haha. I really want to read Daughters Unto Devils too.

I’m really confused on how I feel about We Were Liars I actually didn’t think it was that bad so I’m in the middle kind of! Daughters Unto Devils is pretty unique and I was pretty creeped out in certain parts, makes me excited for the author’s new book and see if it’s just as creepy! 🙂
