Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jamie @ The Broke and the Bookish.
This week is a freebie so from all of the past Top Ten Tuesday themes I chose to do my favorite bookish quotes! Pretty straight forward….
10.) The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
“The Noise is a man unfiltered, and without a filter, a man is just chaos walking.”
9.) A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
“There is not always a good guy. Nor is there always a bad one. Most people are somewhere in between.”
8.) Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
“I would rather be numb than stand here in the light of a sun that can never chase the chill away.”
7.) Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
“Have you ever asked yourself, do monsters make war, or does war make monsters?”
6.) And I Darken by Kiersten White
“As the baby latched on with surprising fierceness, the nurse offered her own prayer.
Let her be strong.
Let her be sly.
And Let her be ugly.”
(I feel like this sums up Lada’s character perfectly)
5.) Night Film by Marisha Pessl
“Mortal fear is as crucial a thing to our lives as love. It cuts to the core of our eing and shows us what we are. Will you step back and cover your eyes? Or will you have the strength to walk the precipice and look out?”
(This quote, for me, really describes the book perfectly)
4.) Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
“The books we love, they love us back, And just as we mark our places in the pages, those pages leave their marks on us. I can see it in you, sure as I see it in me. You’re a daughter of words. A girl with a story to tell.”
3.) Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff
“WHEN IT IS DONE, WE WILL FLY FAR FROM HERE. FAR FROM THIS SCAB AND ITS POISONED SKY. WE WILL DANCE IN THE STORMS, YOU AND I.”
(This is in all caps because the quote was by Buruu, the arashitora, and his inner dialogue is in all caps naturally)
2.) A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
“I’d rather die on an adventure than live standing still.”
1.) Vicious by V.E. Schwab
“Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.”
(My all time favorite quote ever, I don’t even know why. I just love it.)
Have you read any of these books as well, what did you think?
Are any of these your favorite quotes too?
Let me know in the comments and feel free to link up your Top Ten Tuesday as well!
