Big thank you to Jess @ Beaucoup Books for tagging me to do this one! Be sure to head over and not only check out Jess’s answers but her amazing blog as well!
1. What was the last book you marked as “read?”
The Wicked + The Divine, Vol. 1: The Faust Act by Kieron Gillen
This is a graphic novel so it may be cheating a little bit (if it is the last BOOK I read was “One of Us is Lying”). I haven’t reviewed this one yet as I finished it yesterday but it will be a glowing review, it was absolutely amazing! The art style was awesome and the story was even awesome-er, highly recommend it by the way!
2. What was the last book you marked as TBR?
The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke
(No Cover Yet)
The last two books I’ve read by this author were really “meh” so you might be wondering why I’d add another one of her books. Well, it’s really hard to pass up a book that’s described as being a “genderbent Beowulf re-imagining” because that sounds PERFECT and also BADASS! I’m definitely more than willing to give Tucholke another go just for this premise!
3. What book do you plan to read next?
Well I had a TBR set up for June but I also went to my library and they had a bunch of new releases so this is really a toss up. I’m terrible about sticking to reading plans, I’m sorry! However, I really want to make sure I finish up the books I borrowed first so I don’t really know. Either:
Lost Boy: The True Story of Captain Hook by Christina Henry
or
Dreamfall by Amy Plum
4. Do you use the star rating system?
Of course! Although I try to be a bit pickier with my ratings because I don’t really like when other people rate EVERYTHING 4 or 5 stars.
5. Are you doing the 2017 Reading Challenge?
Yes I am! My goal is 80 books this year and currently I’m at 31 books read. So I’m 5 books behind schedule, yikes! However, I did factor in that I’d be reading shorter books as well as graphic novels so I’ll catch up eventually.
6. Do you have a wishlist?
Does any book lover NOT have a wishlist? I have a list of books I “need to buy” and wait until they have a decent prices so I can get a copy!
7. Which book do you plan on buying next?
Currently I’m torn between When Dimple Met Rishi and Bad Romance! If you’ve had a chance to read either of these let me know what you thought in the comments down below and help me make up my mind!
8. Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few.
“The books we love, they love us back, And just as we mark our places in the pages, those pages leave their marks on us. I can see it in you, sure as I see it in me. You’re a daughter of words. A girl with a story to tell.” – Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
“Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.” – Vicious by V.E. Schwab
9. Who are your favorite authors?
Jay Kristoff, V.E. Schwab, Laini Taylor, Christina Henry, Amy Lukavics, Rick Riordan, J.K. Rowling (obviously!), & Gillian Flynn.
These are all authors I’ve read multiple books by and loved all of them!
10. Have you joined any groups?
Top 5 Wednesday & Hype or Like Friday! I don’t join the topics as much but these are both fantastic and fun groups to join!
Just going to tag a couple people here! Sorry if you’ve already done this tag, feel free to just ignore this if that’s the case!
Tag! You’re It:
I’m also doing the Goodrears reading challenge (like 99% of booklovers). I put 50 books on my challenge and I have read 38, so I’m ahead 🙂
I also hate when people rate very book they read 4 and 5 stars. Like really, do are every book you read that good. I rarely give 5 stars to a book.

That’s awesome to hear! It’s always a good feeling being ahead of the Goodreads reading challenge, I almost always set my goal too high so I rarely am ahead haha!
Glad it doesn’t bother just me because there is just no way every book you read is that good, sometimes you might get a good streak but yeah a majority of books aren’t always 4 to 5 stars. I try to be a little more stubborn! 🙂

Oh, man. I finished When Dimple Met Rishi yesterday and already I want to read it again. (I put the audiobook on hold at the library so I could get a better sense of the Hindi within the text.) Also, graphic novels totally count as books.

That’s awesome! I have honestly heard nothing but good things about When Dimple Met Rishi so it’s definitely going to have to be bought and read here soon!
I also count graphic novels as books but I just get so jealous of people that can read that many books in their Goodreads challenge and NOT read any graphic novels! It always impresses me! 🙂

Thanks for the tag! This one looks like a ton of fun and can’t wait to do it. When Dimple Met Rishi is so high up on my TBR and I can’t wait to read it now that it’s finally out.

No problem I hope you have fun with it!
When Dimple Met Rishi is so hyped up I cannot wait to get to it too, also excited to see what you think of it as well! 🙂

I’m doing the Goodreads challenge too, but I’m like four books behind because I had such a busy semester…whoops! I’ve also been trying to be more stingy with my ratings, I used to be one of those people who rated most things 4 or 5 stars but it’s just gotten out of hand! I need to learn to be more discerning I guess haha.

Well you definitely are not alone in that case! Like I said I’m like 5 books behind, but life gets crazy sometimes!
I think it’s safe to say we all were that rater at one point, I was the same way! I think book blogging definitely makes you read more critically so we all become a bit more stingy with our ratings! 🙂

Ahh I need to continue with TW+TD. I loved the first volume. I’m so behind on all my comics/GNs ahaha. Also super interested in reading Dreamfall!

I always get behind with anything that’s a series, especially GN/comics. But I think TW+TD will be one of the exceptions because it’s right up my alley, fortunately my library has most of them I think! 🙂

Thank you for nominating me! I’ll be doing it soon. 🙂 I love Goodreads, so a Goodreads-based tag is a lot of fun.
When Dimple Met Rishi is also on my TBR list. Maybe I’ll read it this summer.

I’m hoping to read When Dimple Met Rishi this summer as well but always seem to swamp myself with so many other books! 🙂

I do Top 5 Wednesday once a month. And is The Wicked and The Divine about Greek Mythology?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s actually a great idea to do T5W once a month that way it isn’t too often and you can pick which topic you like the best, I may have to do that as well!
The Wicked + The Divine is actually a lot of different mythology all together I’m not sure about Greek specifically but we see reincarnations of Minerva which is Roman (so pretty much the same thing) and we also see Japanese, Sumerian, Norse, and Egyptian gods/goddesses as well and more. We also see a reincarnation of Lucifer too, so it’s definitely very interesting to see all these different mythologies being represented. 🙂

I don’t read many graphic novels, I’ve actually only ever read two and both were read this year but I’m definitely intrigued by The Wicked and The Divine.

If you decide to give it a try I really hope you enjoy it, I’d love to see what you think of it! 🙂

This is such a fun book tag! I have something similar to a wish-list, but it’s only books that I’ve read (like ARCs, or library books) that I really want to buy. I hope you get to reading When Dimple Met Rishi – I really enjoyed it, and I hope you do too. 🙂

Btw, WicDiv Vol. 5 just came out. You could marathon the volumes. I didn’t like Vol.1 when I first read it, but enjoyed it on my second read which made me read the rest and fall in love with the series.
I think only in this context would I ever say I love Lucifer. Luci was one of my fav characters and I loved her style too.

It did?! Sweet! I will definitely have to binge all of them!
This is definitely one of the only works of fiction where I can say I love Lucifer as well, she’s just so badass! 🙂

I have been hearing nothing but amazing things about When Dimple Met Rishi and it makes me really want to read that book, even though I’m not the biggest fan of contemporaries. I might end up picking it up when I’m in the mood for a contemporary read! 😀
I know I have said this before but I just LOVE that Vicious quote! ❤ Thank you for tagging me! 😀

Same here, Anna! I don’t read contemporaries hardly ever unless they’re super hyped up and sound like they’ll be interesting for me. If currently waiting for my copy of When Dimple Met Rishi so hopefully I can read it this coming month!
Who doesn’t love that Vicious quote? It’s probably my all time favorite quote! 🙂

I am evidently still somehow fairly inept at using WordPress (lol) because I was looking through tags I had bookmarked because I liked them, and realized you actually TAGGED me in this one! I was just going to ask if I could steal it and then I saw that bahaha. Anyways I’m sorry for not saying it sooner but THANK YOU! ❤
