August Wrap-Up

Top Ten Tuesday(83).jpg

Hello everyone!

Sorry I have been absent pretty much all month so far just a bit of a life update for you guys: I haven’t had the best family or health news these past few weeks so I’ve been trying to handle all of it. I’m fine but just not having a good time of it, I’ve been trying to get my reading and blogging done so please bear with me!

August was a pretty fantastic month for me though as far as reading and blogging go, I did up a ton of posts and got quite a few books on my TBR read! I was supposed to finish and review both “Girls Made of Snow and Glass” and “Black Bird of the Gallows” which didn’t happen due to my personal problems but I am going to try and push through them here soon.

I had an okay reading month this August, I have to say my three favorite reads would have to be “The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue”, “Monstress Volume 1”, and “Mask of Shadows”. Other than those my books were average to mediocre.

I’ve been debating on whether or not I wanted to read Mask of Shadows and your review convinced me to pick it up! It’s currently on request at my library.
I’m so jealous of how many books you got through this month!! I’d be through the moon to finish that many.
Do you read short fiction as well, or do you tend to stick to novels?

Thank you, it’s always a huge compliment to here a review convince you to pick up a book! I really hope you enjoy Mask of Shadows!
I usually stick with novels but I do squeeze in graphic novels here and there just to get through something and it also helps me stay out of a reading slump too! 🙂

Well you definitely convinced me! Once it ends up my hands I’ll let you know what I think of it.

Totally switching gears, but have you read any historical fiction books that you loved lately? That’s also a genre I’m trying to read more of so I’m open to recommendations.

I don’t read a ton of historical fiction but I highly recommend checking out The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, My Lady Jane, And I Darken, and The Steep & Thorny Way. Those were all excellent, hope that helps you out a little bit! 🙂

I’m sorry to hear that your August wasn’t the best. I hope things start to look up for you! 🙂 Everyone keeps talking about the Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I haven’t heard a single bad thing about it. I’ll have to add it to the lengthly tbr!

Thank you Meghan, I appreciate the warm thoughts!
I’d love to see what you think of Gentleman’s Guide and yes I haven’t seen too many negative reviews on it either but it’s worth the hype in my opinion! 🙂
