Here’s another round of Down The TBR Hole in which I am still terrible at actually getting rid of books. But on the other hand you get to have a look at books on my TBR….and also my shame.
If you missed my other posts of Down the TBR Hole here they are:
- Down The TBR Hole #1
- Down The TBR Hole #2
- Down The TBR Hole #3
- Down The TBR Hole #4

This was “created” by Lost in a Story!
The Rules:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current TBR: 776
Book #81
o.4 by Mike A. Lancaster
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
While this seems like an interesting sci-fi that is also pretty short, I just don’t even remember why I ever added it. Thus I don’t think I’ll ever read it so I’ll get rid of it.
The Judgement: Go
Book #82
Plain Kate by Erin Bow
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
This is one I may or may not end up adding back onto my TBR eventually because it’s a dark sort of fairy tale-esque story about a girl living in a village who is burning people for witchcraft, there’s also a talking cat (which is my jam). But I just forget about this book all the time so for now I’m just going to get rid of it.
The Judgement: Go
Book #83
The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
A steampunk mystery seems to be what this book is all about and I sort of forget about it all the time. It’s just gonna have to go.
The Judgement: Go
Book #84
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
I really wasn’t the biggest fan of “Crimson Beauty” I think Hodge’s writing style and I just clash a bit. However, I wanted to give her one last try before giving up and I bought a cheap copy of this one. It sounds interesting as there is Greek mythology mixed in with this Beauty and the Beast retelling.
The Judgement: Keep
Book #85
Half Bad by Sally Green
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
There seem to be quite a few mixed reviews on this book: some people loved it and others hated it. I was curious and got a copy from Book Outlet since how can a book about the son of the world’s most evil witch be that bad?
The Judgement: Keep
Book #86
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
I am reluctantly keeping this, I read “Throne of Glass” and really wasn’t that impressed so I’m really leery of reading this now. However, my dumb self bought a copy already so now I kind of have to read it. Hopefully it isn’t that bad.
The Judgement: Keep
Book #87
Avalon by Mindee Arnett
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
I already own a copy of this on my Kindle and it’s kind of meeeeh to me now but on the other hand I will pretty much want to add anything that is even slightly compared to “Firefly”.
The Judgement: Keep
Book #88
Silver in the Blood by Jessica Day George
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
I’m always a sucker for shape shifter stories especially if they’re historical fiction. Although I have to say if I didn’t already own a copy I probably wouldn’t keep this one around.
The Judgement: Keep
Book #89
Da Vinci’s Tiger by L.M. Elliott
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
I don’t know why but I am seriously a sucker for Renaissance era books, it’s probably one of the time periods I don’t mind reading about in historical fiction. So OF COURSE one about the developing connection between a young girl and THE Leonardo Da Vinci is something I am game for!
P.S. I am still INCREDIBLY salty about them picking this cover over the original…
The Judgement: Keep
Book #90
Dreamstrider by Lindsay Smith
Date Added: July 22nd, 2015
I’ve had this book not only on my TBR for ages but also on my shelves. It’s neglected. It has a seriously gorgeous cover and it’s about dream espionage kind of similar to “Inception” (which I love).
The Judgement: Keep
Have you read any of these? What did you think?
Do you think I should have kept any of these books?
Do you agree with any of my keeps or discards?
Let me know in the comments!
I have not read any of these, but I really would like to wow! These are great choices, I think I’ll have to add them to my TBR List. 🎊

Thanks, I hope so as well. I have Christmas money so I’ll see what I really want to get before getting anything just yet.

Great minds must think alike, haha!
Yeah, I didn’t enjoy Crimson Bound all that much so I don’t really have high hopes for Cruel Beauty and the same goes for ACOTAR but thank you I hope I will enjoy them regardless! 🙂

No worries!
Glad you enjoyed ACOTAR more than TOG it gives me a little more hope as I didn’t love TOG all that much. Hopefully I will have better luck! 🙂

I DNF’d Cruel Beauty; the writing was really weird and couldn’t stand the MC. I also hope to get to Dreamstrider eventually. Great list 🙂

Sorry to hear that about Cruel Beauty, I’m not sure how much I’ll enjoy it as I felt the same way you did with her other book Crimson Bound. I don’t see Dreamstrider mentioned at all really, hopefully you get your hands on a copy, the cover is gorgeous! 🙂
