I had a pretty great blogging month in December, I’m proud of myself! I’ve started scheduling and pre-planning posts ahead of time and opening up more time for me to read so I’ve been finishing more books as well. Hopefully I can stick to doing things this way as I find it to be a lot more satisfying!
Books Read This Month: 13
I read a mix of books this month some were great, some were “meh”, and some I really didn’t enjoy. I loved “Dear Martin”, “Between the Blade and the Heart”, “A Conspiracy of Stars”, and of course “Paper Girls” and “Saga”. While I thought “Ms. Marvel” and “The Queen’s Rising” were okay but kind of meh. And I REALLY didn’t enjoy “The Wicker King”, “There’s Someone Inside Your House” and “Final Girls”. However, there were more good than bad so that’s always a great thing!
I also actually stuck 100% to my planned monthly TBR, which is kind of a first!
Reviews Finished This Month:
The Devils You Know by M.C. Atwood
No Saints in Kansas by Amy Brashear
This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada
An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking

So right now I have like 30 pages left of “Honor Among Thieves” so I’ll be finishing quick here, but I’m kind of underwhelmed by it which is a shame because it sounded great. Then I’ll be moving on to “Heart of Iron” which is another sci-fi and hopefully more enjoyable.
How was your reading and blogging month this December?
What were your best or worst reads?
What are you currently reading?
What books are you excited for this coming month, January?
Let me know in the comments!
I read nine books in December, which is half of what I planned to read I think. I re-read the Harry Potter series, plus two other HP related books.

You seem to have had a great reading month! I’m probably going to start Heart of Iron either today or tomorrow as well. I hope we both end up liking it!

Great wrap up! I’m curious to see what you think of Honor Among Thieves; I haven’t heard anyone talk about it and I’m unsure if I want to read it or not…

At the moment I have finished Honor Among Thieves and while it was enjoyable enough it wasn’t as great as I was expecting. Can’t say if I’d recommend it or not, it’s definitely a unique idea but it was a little underwhelming. I’ll be doing a full review soon so hopefully I’ll have all my thoughts together then! 🙂

I read seven books in December and I’m so happy with that because it means I am now out of my reading slump! A couple of the big books were A Discovery of Witches and its sequel Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy), as well as The Bear and the Nightingale, and The Language of Thorns. All of these were 5 stars (or ‘Mickey Heads’ as I’ve now been using on my blog) apart from Language of Thorns which was 3.5.
January wise, I want to finish off the All Souls Trilogy with The Book of Life, and then read Little Women. I’ve also started reading Le Petit Prince to motivate me into working on my French and possibly read a few other French books.

That’s awesome it’s always great getting out of a slump but also reading that many books too! I definitely need to read Bear and the Nightingale, it sounds amazing glad you loved it!
Hope you get through those books this month too I’m impressed with your choices since I find classics hard to get through sometimes myself! 🙂

I was going to ask about Honor Among Thieves! It did sound super interesting. I am sad you feel underwhelmed by it. I look forward to seeing your review of it soon.

I loved Dear Martin, Saga, and Paper Girls too. I can’t wait for the next volume of Saga, I like reading them in volumes rather than the individual issues so I can have a whole lot of Saga at once 🙂

I can’t believe you stuck to your monthly planned TBR, that never happens to me! 😀 I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy ‘There’s Someone Inside Your House’ which I enjoyed as a fast, quick thriller (with a slightly wandering plot) and ‘Final Girls’ which I have from a charity shop. I hear so many mixed reviews about the latter but the summary is still very intriguing!

Trust me this is the first time I’ve actually stuck to it, haha! Glad you enjoyed There’s Someone Inside Your House more than I did and I am kind of in the middle with Final Girls, it wasn’t all bad and the ending was pretty great. 🙂
