**** For some reason I skipped a book last week! But I’m back on track this week.****
Book #120
Doctor Sleep by Stephen King
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I don’t know if I’ll ever actually get around to reading this but I’ll keep it for now since I own it. Plus I really loved “The Shining”!
The Judgement: Keep
Book #121
The Gift by James Patterson
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I did enjoy “Witch and Wizard” when I read it AGES ago but I don’t really think I want to continue with the series anymore.
The Judgement: Go
Book #122
Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
Once again I read this series a while ago and enjoyed it but I don’t think I’ll ever continue with it.
The Judgement: Go
Book #123
School’s Out Forever by James Patterson
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
Again, read a while ago. Don’t want to continue with the series.
The Judgement: Go
Book #124
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
Are you guys seeing a pattern here in this patch of my TBR? Series I started and won’t be finishing because I just didn’t really think “Divergent” was that great.
The Judgement: Go
Book #125
The Name of Stars by Maureen Johnson
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
A sort of retelling of Jack the Ripper including a girl who can essentially see ghosts, at least that’s what it sounds like! It sounds interesting and I own a copy so I’d like to see if it’s any good.
The Judgement: Keep
Book #126
Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I love Star Wars and I love zombies but I just don’t know about this one anymore. Maybe I’ll read it eventually or maybe not but for now meh.
The Judgement: Go
Book #127
I, Iago by Nicole Galland
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I freaking love “Othello” it is by far my favorite Shakespeare play and Iago is one of my absolute favorite villains. So of course I’d love to read anything related to the play!
The Judgement: Keep
Book #128
Assassin’s Creed: Renaissance by Oliver Bowden
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I really love the Assassin’s Creed games especially the Ezio ones and so I kind of wanted the book but I just don’t think I’ll read it. I’d rather go play the game!
The Judgement: Go
Book #129
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I tried reading this a really long time ago and just wasn’t very intrigued by it, I just don’t think Holly Black’s writing is for me. Although I will be trying “The Cruel Prince” because the hype is ridiculous.
The Judgement: Go
Have you read any of these? What did you think?
Do you think I should have kept any of these books?
Do you agree with any of my keeps or discards?
Let me know in the comments!
I agree with your choices! I really hope you do get to read Doctor Sleep because it’s really good! 🙂

That’s good to hear about Doctor Sleep, no one ever mentions it really so I’ve just been completely in the dark on that one. I did like “The Shining” a lot though so hopefully one day I’ll continue! 🙂

I hope you enjoy it when you do read it! 🙂

I definitely agree with Insurgent, as for the others I can’t really say because I haven’t read them. Some of them I’ve never even heard of.

Glad I got rid of Insurgent then, quite a few other people have said the same thing on here. It would seem that I made a good choice there, haha! 🙂

Yeah, it really wasn’t the greatest series.

I agree with removing Insurgent from your TBR. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Divergent, and the series progressively goes downhill.

Then I am definitely glad I got rid of Insurgent if they only get worse than Divergent, which I also wasn’t the biggest fan of. 🙂

The Name of the Star sounds really interesting, I may have to check it out myself 🙂

I think so as well, glad you found a new book to add! 🙂

You’re saving yourself by not reading the next Divergent book. The last book in the trilogy was a total mess 😛

That seems to be the general consensus here, haha, I feel like I dodged a bullet! Now I’m really glad I decided to get rid of it! 🙂

More purging! I also Name of the Star as one I still want to read; that Jack the Ripper story never gets old.

I agree SO MUCH with you removing Insurgent. I honestly thought Divergent was fine, but I HATED books 2 and 3. I thought they were just awful, and Veronica Roth butchered Tris’ character. 😦 I was a little sad to see the Holly Black book go, but I do hope you enjoy The Cruel Prince! I literally just finished it a few hours ago and loved it. I love all of the authentic lore she weaves into her stories, though I could see how her writing voice wouldn’t be for everyone!

Almost everyone has been saying that about Insurgent so I must have made the right choice, haha, and I thought Divergent was okay as well but if the books get worse I definitely don’t want to continue! I really want to read The Cruel Prince with all of the hype and I have a feeling I’ll like it more because it’s fairies and not vampires like with Coldest Girl in Coldtown. 🙂

Yesss, I think TCP is probably REALLY different from Coldest! I haven’t read Coldest to know for sure, but that’s my guess, at least, haha!

I actually just had another comment from someone who didn’t like Coldest but still loved TCP so I think I’m good to try it! 🙂

Your definitely not missing much with Insurgent; I literally had to force myself to finish the series, it really wasn’t good! I really liked the movies though and thought they were way better 😊

I’m saved then, haha! It’s actually really funny because everyone has commented on this post saying the same thing so now I’m REALLY glad I’m not going to read it! I did watch the first movie and liked it so if the movies are better I might just stick with those! 🙂

Yay – I really think it is something that will be right up your alley, but the movies are a great second choice 🌸

I also didn’t enjoy The Coldest Girl in Coldtown as much, but I loved The Cruel Prince!! Holly Black’s writing personally isn’t for me either, but her world-building for The Cruel Prince was AMAZING (plus the intriguing storyline, with a bunch of plot twists you don’t see coming!!) If you ever decide to pick it up, I hope TCP lives up to the hype ❤

Thank goodness! I’ve honestly been pretty worried about trying The Cruel Prince because I couldn’t get into her other books so that’s such a relief you felt the same way and still enjoyed it! I’m a sucker for great world building so I’m sold! Thank you! 🙂
