2018 Beat the Backlist TBR

Top Ten Tuesday (38)

So I decided to join the Beat the Backlist challenge this year as I have SO many books I need to read that I own! My goal for this year is 60 books on my backlist TBR and hopefully I’ll get through more than that as well.

There are a couple 2017 releases on here but MOST of these were released even earlier than that, as I said I want to get through my older books. Here are the books I’m hoping to read!

You can sign up for 2018 Beat the Backlist here.

The Last Magician and Invictus are both FANTASTIC. I hope you’ll enjoy them. Lots of the other books you listed are books I really need to get around to – Simon vs., Dangerous Girls, The Star-Touched Queen – I could go on and on.

It was actually your review of The Last Magician that convinced me to give it a try since I didn’t really love her other book “Unhooked” so I’m definitely excited to read this one!
And yes so very many books and not enough time! 🙂

Glad to hear you enjoyed both ATAN and Bird Box, of course I’m really looking forward to read both haha! I’ve heard nothing but good things about Wolf by Wolf so I’m definitely hoping it blows me away as well! 🙂

We have three similar books, A Gathering of Shadows, Starflight, and The Bear and the Nightingale are on my list of backlist books I want to get to this year. I loved The Song of Achilles and Strange the Dreamer!!

I can’t wait for Circe!! I will read anything that Madeline Miller writes when it comes to her Grecian retellings.

Heck yeah girl! So many titles I see here are amazing books 😀 If you do audio books, I highly recommend doing these books on audio: Sabriel (Tim Curry), Diviners (Janurary LaVoy, stunning), Strange the Dreamer (Steve West, aka best dreamiest voice ever), Torch Against the Night and all the Mistborn books 🙂 I can’t wait to see what you think on so many of them. Best of luck with this goal 🙂

Which is exactly why I MUST read them this year, haha, so many good books left unread! I don’t usually do audio books but I have to say the idea of Tim Curry narrating Sabriel definitely sounds great! And thank you so much! 🙂

Yaaaay, you signed up! I’m on Book Bards. Which team are you on? *crossing fingers* haha! Soooo many of the books you listed are on my TBR for this year, too! Strange the Dreamer, A Gathering of Shadows, Song of Achilles, The Valiant, The Queen of Blood, Berserker, City of Brass, Bird Box, The Bear and the Nightingale, Name of the Wind, The Raven King, Bad Romance… bahaha okay I’ll shut up. WW:W and Sabriel were both on my list, too, but I just finished both of those over the last two days! (They were both really good.) I can’t wait to read all of your reviews for these books! ❤

My aim is 50 this year. I have no idea what “Beat the Backlist” challenge is about, but it sounds interesting… I might give it a try!! Thanks a lot ❤

Good luck with your reading challenge and “Beat the Backlist” is setting an amount of backlist books to read during the year, it’s pretty simple and you can either do it for fun or you can compete with the other teams. So far it’s pretty fun so hopefully you check it out! 🙂

I’m still on the fence about signing up for the challenge this year. I did a terrible job last year remembering to submit all of my stuff each month, haha! But you have some amazing books on this list! I have tons of these books on my personal TBR as well. Maybe we can buddy read one some time! Either way, it looks like you’ll have an amazing reading year in 2018. I hope you enjoy them all!

I have a feeling I might forget to submit my books each month as well, haha. Then remember and try to do it all at once! And I would love to do a buddy read some time of course! You’ll have to let me know what you come up with on “Sleeping Giants” because if all else fails I would love to do a buddy read with you on that one!
      Thanks Larkin! 🙂

I’m still deciding on whether I want to join this challenge, it does look fun though!
I really loved Three Dark Crowns & Dangerous Girls. I wasn’t as fond of Blue Lily, Lily Blue but I think I was just in the wrong head space so I’m definitely planning on rereading it, Caraval was a serious let down; the romance overshadowed everything for me!
Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda, Warcross & Strange The Dreamer are all on my immediate TBR.

Good luck with this challenge, Heather and I hope you enjoy all these books 🌸

I think it’ll definitely be a great way to catch up on TBRs! I hope you do decide to give it a try, maybe we’ll be on the same team!

I’m thinking I’ll probably really love Three Dark Crowns and Dangerous Girls, especially after reading your reviews for them! That’s a bummer about Blue Lily, Lily Blue, maybe it’s a case of “middle book syndrome” except it’s the 3rd one, haha, hopefully it’s better the second time around for you! And that’s seriously such a shame about Caraval because my worst nightmare in a book is the romance overshadowing everything! I suppose I’ll have to just suck it up, haha, but my copy was cheap and if anything it’s a pretty cover for the shelf!

      Thank you Michelle! 🙂

Looks like we don’t have any similar books, though :O
