Book #130
The Calling by James Frey
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I bought this when it first came out when I was wondering around Target looking for a book to buy, I really regret blindly buying it now of course. I have zero interest in even reading it. Plus I don’t hear good things about the author…..
The Judgement: Go
Book #131
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
Date Added: July 29th, 2015
I’m on the fence with this one because I think I will read it eventually (especially since my grandpa has been asking me if I’ve read it yet, forever) but just not soon. I have other books I’d rather get to.
The Judgement: Go
Book #132
White Cat by Holly Black
Date Added: July 31st, 2015
I know, I know. I said I think Holly’s books aren’t really for me but I do own this so I want to at least try it….and also I want to try “The Cruel Prince” because of the hype.
The Judgement: Keep
Book #133
Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier
Date Added: August 3rd, 2015
I actually don’t really remember why I added this one…..hm.
The Judgement: Go
Book #134
In The Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters
Date Added: August 4th, 2015
I absolutely adored “The Steep & Thorny Way” and loved Cat’s writing so I’m really excited to read another of her books!
The Judgement: Keep
Book #135
The Uninvited by Cat Winters
Date Added: August 4th, 2015
Yep another Cat Winters book….
The Judgement: Keep
Book #136
Born of Illusion by Teri Brown
Date Added: August 4th, 2015
I love magic and magicians, it’s always a fun time for me so I’m excited to read this one!
The Judgement: Keep
Book #137
The Mad Scientist’s Daughter by Cassandra Rose Clarke
Date Added: August 4th, 2015
This one actually sounds pretty good, with robots and things, but I think I’ll just remove it until I read more of Clarke’s books and decide if I like her style first.
The Judgement: Go
Book #138
The Assassin’s Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke
Date Added: August 4th, 2015
Okay so there are apparently PIRATES in this book so I’m going to keep it of course because I love me a good pirate story even if it’s minor pirates.
The Judgement: Keep
Book #139
Our Lady of the Ice by Cassandra Rose Clarke
Date Added: August 4th, 2015
This one sounds interesting, people living in a dome in Antarctica! I got a cheap copy on my Kindle so I’ll give it a shot.
The Judgement: Keep
Have you read any of these? What did you think?
Do you think I should have kept any of these books?
Do you agree with any of my keeps or discards?
Let me know in the comments!
I haven’t read any of these but I did read The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters and really enjoyed it. It’s possible that I’ll read more of her books at some point.

Yay for keeping Shadow of Blackbirds! I loved that one by her 🙂 she just announced that her next book is going to be about Edgar Allen Poe in 2019! I haven’t read her two adult novels either.

Yes, Cat Winters is awesome! I really liked The Steep and Thorny Way and I just feel like her writing style is really great, I didn’t know about the Edgar Allen Poe book but I’m definitely going to add it now, that’s the perfect combo! 🙂

Wait, wait, wait! Let me get this straight you’re going to keep White Cat but get rid of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo?!?!? Uhhhh Dragon Tattoo is SO much better! I looooved all of the books, the plots were so intricate, I’m trying so hard to figure out how to express how much I love those books but all I keep thinking is THEY ARE SO AWESOME! 😛 I hope you reconsider and read them one day! 🙂 I’m sorry if that came off rather preachy

I’M SORRY! I really do want to read it eventually because I hear nothing but good things about Dragon Tattoo and I’m positive I will enjoy it but I just don’t think I can make time for it anytime soon. And when I finally read it I want to take my time and not rush through so it’s off the “short term TBR” but not the long term one, if that makes sense? And you definitely did not come off preachy at all, I always appreciate your input! I’m glad you enjoyed those books because like I said I’ll definitely be reading them eventually! 🙂

Okay but The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is really good; that whole series is amazing and will most definitely blow your mind! I hope you make time for the that series one day 😊

I KNOW, I even thought to myself “Michelle is going to kill me” when I took it off, haha! I will definitely be reading it eventually, it’s on the long term TBR but not the short term! 🙂

I think it’s a good call to get rid of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! It was my second least favorite book that I read last year. Sooo long and sooo not worth it, imo. But i seem to be in the minority.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy it! I’ve had a lot of people telling me to keep it but of course everyone’s opinions are different! I’m glad I got rid of it for now though because I just don’t have the patience for longer books! 🙂
