I bought The Dark Days Club but I havent read it yet. I’ve been wondering about The Glittering Court.

Hopefully we both enjoy The Dark Days Club then and I wasn’t hearing many great things about The Glittering Court, thus my decision to get rid of it, but obviously everyone’s reading tastes are different so you never know! 🙂

A Gathering of Shadows, Rebel of the Sands, and Wolf by Wolf are all fantastic. I hope you like them when you manage to read them. The only other book on here that I’ve read is The Dark Days Club and despite it being pegged as Jane Austen meets The Infernal Devices, which I thought was am amazing combination, I wasn’t really a fan. I found it incredibly underwhelming and lacking in substance. However, it is still hugely popular and obviously a lot of people like it because it has some great reviews. I’m clearly one of the odd one’s out.

Thank you! I’ve heard great things about all three of those so I’m glad you enjoyed them as well and of course I wasn’t expecting anything less of A Gathering of Shadows, haha! Yeah, I’m not too sure what I’ll think of The Dark Days Club since I’m not usually a big fan of historical fiction but I suppose we’ll see, I think I’ll go in with lower expectations just to be safe! 🙂

That’s awesome I’m so glad to hear you loved it! I pretty much NEVER see anyone else talking about this book and so it seems really underrated and it’s by Mackenzi Lee too! I really liked her writing style in Gentleman’s Guide so hopefully I’ll love This Monstrous Thing too! 🙂

It’s the only thing I’ve read by her. It’s funny I didn’t know she was the author of Gentleman’s Guide until after and I was like oooo, as I slowly make my way out of my 2015 tbr books (and the end is close I’m about 20 books away! 😄) I hope to get to it too!

I agree with Bright Smoke, Cold Fire; her writing is so weird from Cruel Beauty that I have no interest in her books. I do also want to read Weight of Feathers and This Monstrous Thing 🙂 great list!

Thank you! And yeah I read Hodge’s other book “Crimson Bound” and her writing style was very strange, I already have a copy of “Cruel Beauty” just to give her another try but I don’t think her books are for me either.
      🙂
