There are actually quite a few great releases coming out this month and I’m pretty much excited for them all! So let’s just get right into it!
Dread Nation by Justina Ireland
Release Date: April 3rd
I actually had the pleasure of reading an ARC of this book and really enjoyed it! There’s zombies, diversity, great friendships, and plenty of action. I recommend checking it out for sure!
You can read my full review review here.
The Barrow Will Send What It May (Danielle Cain #2) by Margaret Killjoy
Release Date: April 3rd
This is actually the second novella in a series the first one being “The Lamb Will Slaughter The Lion” about a group of punks/wanderers that decide to hunt demons and spirits. It’s an unbelievably awesome series, I highly recommend giving it a try!
You can read my full review of book one here.
You can read my full review of book two here.
The Window by Amelia Brunskill
Release Date: April 3rd
This is one I’ve actually been really looking forward to, it’s a mystery/thriller about a girl whose twin just died in an accident and she starts unraveling the secrets that surround it.
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody
Release Date: April 10th
The synopsis and cover definitely grab your attention and while I thought this was an enjoyable book set in a fantasy version of Las Vegas, it just wasn’t as good as it should have been.
You can read my full review here.
Circe by Madeline Miller
Release Date: April 10th
Seriously, this is probably the best book I’ll read all year. It’s worth all the hype and more I 100% recommend checking this book out! It’s about the witch goddess Circe and we follow her through her life as she encounters many other famous figures in Greek mythology.
You can read my full gush review here.
Beyond A Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake
Release Date: April 10th
While this sounds like your typical YA fantasy I also heard that it’s got tons of Irish and Norse mythology which I’m here for. I do have an ARC so be on the look out for my full review here soon!
Devils Unto Dust by Emma Berquist
Release Date: April 10th
Currently reading this one! It’s a western with zombies and so far it’s pretty damn good so once again be on the look out for my full review.
Isle of Blood and Stone by Makiia Lucier
Release Date: April 10th
Maps, mapmakers, riddles, and a mystery surrounding the disappearance of the kingdom’s two princes. Yeah…..sounds pretty great, I’m always a sucker for books featuring riddle themes.
Space Opera by Catherynne M. Valente
Release Date: April 10th
This sci-fi sounds amazing and hilarious, it’s about a band chosen to represent Earth in the Metagalactic Grand Prix, which is part gladiatorial contest, part beauty pageant, and part concert.
Paper Girls Vol. 4 by Brian K. Vaughan
Release Date: April 10th
Yaaaassss! Volume 4 will finally be mine!!!!
The Atrocities by Jeremey C. Shipp
Release Date: April 17th
A gothic horror novella that I have a digital ARC of that I need to hustle up and read!
From The Earth To The Shadows (Valkyrie #2) by Amanda Hocking
Release Date: April 24th
I really enjoyed the first book, I thought it was a lot of fun and there’s TONS of different mythologies included. I have an ARC of this as well so I’m excited to see how it goes!
You can read my full review for book one here.
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
Release Date: April 24th
YA viking inspired fantasy! Woohoo! Once again I have an ARC I need to read but it sounds awesome!
Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian
Release Date: April 24th
I’m not sure how to summarize this one because there’s so much going on in the synopsis but it basically sounds like a super badass heroine in a very brutal YA fantasy world. Plus the cover is gorgeous….
Leah on the Offbeat (Creekwood #2) by Becky Albertalli
Release Date: April 24th
While I haven’t read “Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda” yet I still think the sequel looks amazing. I really need to get my butt into gear here….
Are you also looking forward to any of these books?
Have you read any of them yet (ARCs etc)?
What are some April releases I didn’t include that you’re looking forward to?

I keep hearing about this Circe book and I wasn’t going to read it because I’m not into Greek mythology but I think I need to read it after your review. Ace of Shades and Leah is also on my April list.
