Top Ten Tuesday: Frequently Used Title Words in YA Books

Top Ten Tuesday(9)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

It has now been moved over to That Artsy Reader Girl.

This is such a fun topic and one that I found myself thinking about at random too, there really are some words out there that show up all the time in YA titles! I just went onto Goodreads and looked at all of the books I’ve both read and added to come up with this list. There are probably a few I missed though! Also some of these have a lot of titles and some only have a few, I wanted to try and think of some more unique words that show up quite a bit instead of the typical: you, me, love, etc.

This is going to be a bit shorter since it’s pretty much just a list and I don’t have much to say about each individual word or title!

These are in no particular order.

Haha this was a fun list to scroll through! It’s so true though, sometimes it’s like they have a set list of words they pick from a bowl to choose a title 😂

I’m going to save this so I can try to think of clever ideas for future book titles for myself, haha. I feel like “Bones” is slowly becoming a common one to include… This was a fun post!

You definitely could rename the post “words NOT to use in your YA book title”, haha! I agree, ‘Bones’ really is starting to become more frequent, it’s like everyone gets together each year and says “okay guys, here are the words we all have to use in our titles this year.”, haha! 🙂
