June Book Haul: 20+ Books!

Time for another book haul, especially since I didn’t have one for May! I have quite the mix with physical and digital ARCs as well as books I bought with my own money, however, fun fact: I only paid full price for 2 of these books and the rest were super discounted! I don’t know about you guys but I always love getting a good deal on books!

Copy of Top Ten Tuesday(4)

The 48 by Donna Hosie

I’m actually really excited for this one and it’s definitely an underrated one! It’s about a pair of time traveling teenage assassins going back in time to prevent Henry VIII from marrying Jane Seymour. Yeah, sounds awesome right?

Realm of Ruins (The Nissera Chronicles #2) by Hannah West

I recommend the first book “Kingdom of Ash and Briars” ALL the time because it’s so under appreciated and amazing! It was originally a standalone but now there’s a sequel with a different character but set in the same universe, I am ecstatic to read it!

The Impossible Girl by Lydia Kang

A historical fiction set in in 1850 Manhattan and featuring a half Asian half American (at least it’s implied in the synopsis) protagonist, it’s the story of a girl who has two hearts and whom every grave robber and anatomists is after.

Girls’ Night Out by Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke

A girl’s trip to Mexico proves troublesome when the three person group discovers one of them has gone missing the next day. Classic mystery/thriller formula but it seems like a fun Summer read.

I Am Still Alive by Kate Marshall

I’m going to be a part of the blog tour this month on the 17th so be on the look out for my post! This seems like a really intriguing survival story about a girl who lives with her estranged father out in the Canadian wilderness but when a secret from his past paid a visit leaving him dead, the cabin burned down, and her stranded.

Beneath The Citadel by Destiny Soria

A city ruled by prophecies and a brewing rebellion, sounds like a pretty interesting YA fantasy to me!

Copy of Top Ten Tuesday(5)

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (Collector’s Edition)

I actually have read this one BUT it’s been 3 years and I have a feeling I’ll need to re-read it before I continue on with the trilogy. Plus how could I not want the special collector’s edition?

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

This is the old cover one but I’m not complaining since I got it cheap from Book Outlet, I’ve com to accept the fact my set of this series won’t match! Still I’m super excited to read more by Renee Ahdieh.

Wicked Games by Sean Olin

This book seems to be one of those books where it’s full of twisted, cruel stuff but it also seems like one of those books where you just can’t stop reading it anyways. Hopefully that makes some kind of sense? Either way I feel it would make for a great, quick summer read.

The Arsonist by Stephanie Oakes

To be 100% honest I have no idea what the hell this book is supposed to be about, the synopsis is all over the place. I’m fin with it though because I loved “The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly” and the cover for this one is gorgeous.

Renegades by Marissa Meyer

I wasn’t the biggest fan of “Cinder” even though I will eventually continue that series but I loved “Heartless”, so I decided to try Meyer’s latest book. I got it on Book Outlet so it’s worth the risk!

The Weight of Feathers by Anna Marie-McLemore

I’ve heard this be compared to “The Night Circus” and I have heard TONS of good things about the author. Overall super excited to give her books a try!

The Breathless by Tara Goedjen

I’m all for the creepy books, which this one seems like it is. The main character’s sister’s body is found on the beach and the same night her boyfriend goes missing. One year later he shows up at their house and has no memory of that night, the MC starts uncovering other secrets as well. Hopefully it’s at least a little creepy like the cover implies…

Fragments of the Lost by Megan Miranda

This is a mystery/thriller about a girl whose ex-boyfriend died in an accident and she must go help pack up his room. She starts uncovering secrets and questioning whether she knew him or not. I’ve actually heard quite a few good things about his one and it seems pretty underrated.

The Merciless III: Origins of Evil by Danielle Vega

This series! I was so happy to find a copy of the 3rd one on Book Outlet so I can continue on with it!

Rebel Genius by Michael Dante DiMartino

This one reminds me a bit of “The Golden Compass” since every artist has a living embodiment of their creative spirit that follows them around, usually in bird form. Also this guy is the co-creator of Avatar: The Last Airbender. And really? That’s all I needed to know.

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

I finally caved and bought a copy, it was a $5 bargain book at the store so why not? Also the movie comes out soon!

LifeL1k3 by Jay Kristoff

This book and the next one are the only 2 books I paid full price for in this haul, in case anyone cares about how thrifty I am when book shopping, haha! I HAD to have this one though it’s being compared to Mad Max and it’s by Jay Kristoff. I’m at the point in my life where I’ll buy anything Kristoff writes. Anything!

Now I Rise by Kiersten White

Yes, finally I have a copy of this! Also the third and final book comes out this month so now I don’t have to wait a year……So really I was smart about procrastinating I guess.

Copy of Top Ten Tuesday(3)

Nightingale by Amy Lukavics

So excited to have an ARC of this one! Hopefully it will be a bit better than “The Ravenous”, overall though I’m pretty impressed with Lukavics’ horror books so I’m looking forward to it!

The Girl at the Grave by Teri Bailey Black

This one is about a girl whose mother was a serial killer and when new murders start happening everyone is looking at her. This sounds similar to “I Hunt Killers” which I LOVED so hopefully this one will be just as good.

The Raging Ones by Kristie & Becca Ritchie

I was asked to participate in the blog tour of this one, which is pretty exciting! It’s a sci-fi where everyone knows they date they will die but three teens all dodge their “deathdays” and must flee the planet to survive. Sounds so good!

Copy of Top Ten Tuesday(1)

Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant

Sea monsters and a lost crew, all I’m here for are the implied sea monsters!

The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy

I’ve heard a few good things about this mystery/thriller and I like to stock up in the summer since this is when I feel like reading those types of books!

The Black Witch by Laurie Forest

This book had a lot of controversy surrounding it when it first came out but it’s got witches and a fantasy world so I’m going to give it a shot and see for myself.

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn

I actually sat on my library’s hold list for this one for 2 months and then it went on sale for a couple dollars on Kindle. I then bought it so I wouldn’t have to wait, but I’ll probably leave it unread on my Kindle for longer than that anyways….

I feel like I’m the only person in the world who still hasn’t read a Victoria Schwab book! A Darker Shade of Magic has been sitting on my shelf for far too long I’ll have to find some time to finally read it 😀

Thank you Hannah! And I know right book discounts are the best! I’m also just super cheap but when there’s 1,000’s of books out there waiting to be read we need to be stingy, haha! 🙂

The Arsonist was pretty good, but dense. It was a unique read.
I love Megan Miranda, but Fragments of the Lost was not my favorite by her (I liked Hysteria). -Sarah
