It’s never too early to start talking about 2019 releases is it? I don’t think so! There’s always some great reads to look forward to in the upcoming year and I’d like to just quick talk about a few that I’m PUMPED for!
Once and Future by Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy
Release Date: March 5th
A sci-fi Arthurian legend retelling where Arthur is reincarnated and Merlin must train them. Basically I’m just all for any kind of Arthur retellings in YA but a sci-fi sounds especially interesting!
Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody & Joanne Rendell
Release Date: April 2nd
Another YA sci-fi retelling except this one is a retelling of Les Miserables. Les Miserables IN SPACE! I kind of can’t stop fangirling about it……
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
Release Date: February 26th
I have yet to read “The Bone Season”, I know shame on me! But that hasn’t stopped me from drooling at the sight of her newest book, the cover is amazing. It basically has all of the makings of an epic fantasy and there’s dragons, that right there has me 100% sold.
In an Absent Dream (Wayward Children #4) by Seanan McGuire
Release Date: January 8th
I mean…come on, we all know this series of novellas is nothing short of awesome! I NEED the 4th one stat! I never want this series to end! I want a full size novel!
An Anatomy of Beasts (Faloiv #2) by Olivia A. Cole
Release Date: April 16th
After the surprisingly amazing “A Conspiracy of Stars” I’m super excited to get my hands on the sequel, especially after that cliffhanger! It’s very similar to James Cameron’s Avatar and I would say if you’re a fan you would like the first book.
The Girl King by Mimi Yu
Release Date: January 8th
This is an Asian inspired YA fantasy in which two sisters become rivals for the throne. It sounds like there’s plenty of political intrigue and power plays, which I think keeps fantasy books very interesting!
Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte
Release Date: February 26th
A pickpocket and a noble messenger try to solve the brutal murders of all four queens of their nation. I just think everything about that premise sounds interesting especially the fact that four queens rule the nation together.
Last of Her Name by Jessica Khoury
Release Date: February 26th
This is a YA sci-fi retelling of Anastasia, are you seeing a pattern here? Lots of sci-fi retellings coming up! Also I adore Jessica Khoury and her writing style so I’m even more excited to read her newest release!

Oooh, true! I was thinking a few days ago how I wish I could get an ARC of it, and then I thought, “No you don’t! Then you’ll have to read it all in a certain time frame and it’s MASSIVE!” lol I’m not sure if I ever want to get into reviewing ARCs of that size. I already feel a little overwhelmed with this TorDotCom anthology I have that is almost 600 pages.

I want to make a list like this for the 2019 releases, but I’m actually scared because the list is too long. Haha.

Oh I know! I had to cut way down on the list to get 8 and I also narrowed it down by books that have covers already as well. I can’t wait for all the cover reveals though! 🙂
