March New Releases I’m Excited For!

Top Ten Tuesday(1).jpg

There aren’t nearly as many books coming out here in March compared to last month in February but there are still some pretty great ones to check out!

These are listed by release date and honorable mentions (books I either have no interest in or haven’t read their predecessors yet) will be posted at the bottom! Each title is also linked to their Goodreads page if you’d like to add them!

The Pioneer by Bridget Tyler
Release Date: March 5th

Jo and her family lead a group of pioneers whose mission it is to establish a community on a new planet. However, Jo discovers a secret that her commander mother has kept from their people and Jo must decide to expose the truth or not…if they survive that long.

This reminds me a lot of “A Conspiracy of Stars” which is another YA sci-fi about inhabiting a new world and I really loved that one so definitely excited to read this one!

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Release Date: March 5th

I have yet to read “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” (I know, shame on me) but I think Reid’s books sound great so I’ve added another one anyways…

Set in the 60’s it’s about a girl named Daisy who spends her time on the Sunset Strip sneaking into clubs and loving the thrill of sex and drugs. However, she loves rock n’ roll the most and her voice is finally starting to get noticed. Then there’s The Six, a band led by Billy Dunne who are also getting noticed. When Billy’s girlfriend reveals that she’s pregnant before they go on tour, Billy, under the pressure of impending fatherhood goes wild on the road. A producer puts these two together and what happens next is the stuff of legend.

The Devil Aspect by Craig Russell
Release Date: March 5th

1935 Prague: A psychiatrist arrives at a famed asylum for the criminally insane that houses six of the country’s most treacherous killers. He hopes to use a new medical technique to prove that these patients share a common archetype of evil, a phenomenon known as The Devil Aspect. As he interviews each he discovers that they may all share a dark truth….. In the meantime a new serial killer terrorizes the city of Prague and a PI is desperate to catch the culprit and realizes he’s imitating Jack the Ripper and suspects he may also have a connection to the killers inside the asylum.

I have to thank Kaleena for unintentionally helping me find this book, I was totally stalking her Goodreads “To Read” list!

You Owe Me a Murder by Eileen Cook
Release Date: March 5th

17-year-old Kim never expected to plot a murder. But that was before her boyfriend dumped her for another girl. Now, Kim’s stuck on a class trip to London with him and his new soulmate and she can’t help wishing he was a little bit dead, even if she’d never really do that. But when Kim meets Nicki, a stranger on the plane who’s more than willing to listen to Kim’s woes, things start to look up. Nicki’s got a great sense of humor, and when she jokes about swapping murders, Kim plays along—that is, until Kim’s ex-boyfriend mysteriously dies. Blackmailed by Nicki to fulfill her end of the deal, Kim will have to commit a murder or take the fall for one.

I really enjoyed Cook’s other two YA thrillers “With Malice” and “The Hanging Girl” and she really knows how to throw you for a loop!

The Last Eight by Laura Pohl
Release Date: March 5th

This story is about eight teenagers who survive an alien attack on Earth and are hiding out in Area 51, however, one of them discovers a hidden spaceship and now they don’t know what to believe or who to trust.

Dealing in Dreams by Lilliam Rivera
Release Date: March 5th

In a future, dystopian world it’s Nalah’s dream to get off of the streets and live in one of the Mega Towers among the chosen few who get to live there. In order to achieve this she must find a gang across the border for the city’s founder but as she goes along she begins to question everything she thought she wanted.

Queen’s Shadow by E.K. Johnston
Release Date: March 5th

Bloodleaf by Crystal Smith
Release Date: March 12th

Princess Aurelia is a prisoner to her crown and the heir that nobody wants. Surrounded by spirits and banned from using her blood-magic, Aurelia flees her country after a devastating assassination attempt. To escape her fate, Aurelia disguises herself as a commoner in a new land and discovers a happiness her crown has never allowed. As she forges new bonds and perfects her magic, she begins to fall for a man who is forbidden to rule beside her. But the ghosts that haunt Aurelia refuse to abandon her, and she finds herself succumbing to their call as they expose a nefarious plot that only she can defeat. Will she be forced to choose between the weight of the crown and the freedom of her new life?

The Waking Forest by Alyssa Wees
Release Date: March 12th

Rhea always sees the Waking Forest at the edge of her backyard, yet when she reaches out to touch it it vanishes. She’s desperate to know more until she meets an odd boy who offers to reveal its secrets if she agrees to play a game. The forest is home to the Witch who waits for dreaming children to beg her to grant their wishes. One night, a mysterious visitor arrives and asks her what she wishes for, but the Witch sends him away. And then the uninvited guest returns. Rhea and the Witch’s paths collide and a deadly truth is revealed.

Other Words for Smoke by Sarah Maria Griffin
Release Date: March 12th

This book, this is an interesting book in that the synopsis has a lot going on in it. There are the twin main characters who know the truth about what happened the summer a house burned down and and the occupants never seen again. They were living with their great aunt and discover a strange power lurking in that house that is called Sweet James.

Creepy, right? Sounds very unique for sure!

Sherwood by Meagan Spooner
Release Date: March 19th

It’s a genderbent Robin Hood retelling, well sort of. Robin of Locksley is dead and Maid Marian takes his place, it’s a pretty straight forward synopsis!

Never Contented Things by Sarah Porter
Release Date: March 19th

A fae prince sets his eyes on a pair of foster siblings and will stop at nothing to possess them. The pair are entrapped by the fairies and learn their magic comes at a terrible price and must risk everything to reclaim their freedom.

I’m ALL for the fae books but yet I haven’t read many of them!

Once & Future by Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy
Release Date: March 26th

A YA sci-fi, genderbent, retelling of the Arthurian legends. That’s all you need to really know, right?

Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody
Release Date: March 26th

This is a YA sci-fi reimagining of Les Miserables! There are three main characters: a thief wishing to escape the brutal Regime and will spy on the grandson of the most powerful man on the planet to do so; an officer and son of a traitor whose father leaves him a cryptic message only one person can solve; and a girl living in an underground refuge caring for the last surviving library on the planet and a murder bringing her to the surface after 12 years.

There’s definitely a lot going on but it sounds fantastic!
