Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Hope Will Be Under My Tree!

I mean half of my Christmas list is books so I hope I’ll find at least one under the tree this year! These books are listed in no particular order and I will link each title to their Goodreads page.

10.) The Rise of Kyoshi (The Kyoshi Novels #1) by F.C. Yee

As a huge Avatar: The Last Airbender fan I feel obligated to read this, but also it sounds amazing. A full length novel about Avatar Kyoshi? Hell yes, put it in my hands now!

9.) The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

I’ve had my eye on this since February but it’s a spendy book, it’s been on sale for Kindle several times but with that size and that gorgeous cover I just really want a physical copy. Fingers crossed!

8.) Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall

I really enjoyed Kate Alice Marshall’s other book “I Am Still Alive” so I was curious about her new book but when I found out it was a ghost story told like The Blair Witch Project I was 100% sold. Now I need to get my hands on it!

7.) House of Skin by Jonathan Janz

I really enjoy Janz’s books so I want to start reading more of them! Unfortunately my library doesn’t carry any of them so I’m hoping I can get some for Christmas. I think “House of Skin” sounds like the most appealing right now with it’s creepy old manor setting!

6.) Skyward by Brandon Sanderson

Brandon Sanderson wrote a YA sci-fi book, I need it. Plain and simple.

5.) Kill Creek by Scott Thomas

Horror writers are invited to spend Halloween night in one of the country’s most haunted houses. How could I NOT want to read this one? I was going to buy it when it was around $5 or $6 for Kindle but then the price went back up so I might as well get a paperback!

4.) What the Woods Keep by Katya de Becerra

An inherited house full of secrets, a lost supernatural race, rituals and symbols in the woods. I mean what’s there not to like? I have read Becerra’s upcoming book “Oasis” and she definitely knows how to keep things unique and interesting, I’d love to read this one as well.

3.) An Anatomy of Beasts (Faloiv #2) by Olivia A. Cole

The sequel to the amazing “A Conspiracy of Stars” (full review here) that is reminiscent of ‘Avatar’ (the movie not the series). I cannot wait to dive back into the world Cole created here and finally find out what’s going on after that cliffhanger!

2.) Wilder Girls by Rory Power

A YA horror book with flowery prose and LGTBQ+ characters, also that gorgeous cover. Another case of “what’s not to like”? I’d really love to give this one a shot.

1.) Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee

I mean I love Loki so a full length novel is pretty much a must for me. I need it. Also the gorgeous cover. I need it.
