Top Ten Tuesday: Prettiest “People” Covers

Top Ten Tuesday

There are tons of gorgeous covers out there to choose from for any kind of cover related list. However, I’m personally not a big fan of covers with people or faces on them so I decided to compile a list of some of the ones I find most beautiful! These titles are not listed in any particular order and I will link each one to their Goodreads page.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

It has now been moved over to That Artsy Reader Girl.

10.) The Gilded Ones (Deathless #1) by Namina Forna

This is just a gorgeous cover, I love the green background too! This book will be released in May and is a YA West African fantasy. It’s about a young girl who has a rare gift and must choose to either stay in her village and submit to her fate for being “impure” or fight for the emperor in an army of girls just like her. Honestly sounds amazing and looks amazing!

9.) An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

I love, love this book! The cover is honestly so beautiful, everything about it. On top of that it’s one of the few romance focused YA fantasy books that I actually enjoyed. It’s about a young painter who takes a stand against the faerie court and she ends up falling in love with a faerie prince.

8.) Sea Witch (Sea Witch #1) by Sarah Henning

I don’t know what it is about this cover that I find so appealing: the font? the dark, ocean colors? the gorgeous hints of purple? All of it! This is also a Little Mermaid retelling and is set in 19th century Denmark, it’s a bit slow but honestly the character development makes it all worth it.

7.) The Guinevere Deception (Camelot Rising #1) by Kiersten White

I love the gold on blue on this cover! I haven’t read this one yet but am really excited to because I love Arthurian legend retellings.

6.) Goddess in the Machine (Goddess in the Machine #1) by Lora Beth Johnson

All the little details and designs on this one are so pretty! This book will be releasing in June and is a YA sci-fi. It’s about a girl who was put into cryonic sleep for a trip across the galaxy and awakens 1,000 years later to her ship’s descendants thinking she is a goddess on this new planet.  That’s the gist of it anyways but honestly it sounds so good.

5.) Alien: Echo by Mira Grant

There’s nothing I don’t love about this cover, I love all of that vibrant green and how the xenomorph egg is in the eyes of each face. Love it! I’m a big fan of the Alien franchise so a YA book based in the same universe sounds great especially since it’s written by Mira Grant aka Seanan McGuire!

4.) Kingdom of Souls (Kingdom of Souls #1) by Rena Barron

I love how intricate this one is and that font is super cool. A YA West African fantasy about a girl who must sacrifice her life, year by year, to gain the power necessary to fight the mother she has never been good enough for. I still have to read it but that sounds great!

3.) Wilder Girls by Rory Power

I love how bizarrely beautiful this cover is, it’s slightly creepy yet still so pretty. It’s also LGTBQ+ YA horror so that’s also pretty exciting, can’t wait to read it.

2.) Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars #1) by Elizabeth Lim

This is one of those covers where everything is so pretty that I don’t even know where to start! The short little blurb for this one has me intrigued for sure: Project Runway meets Mulan in this sweeping YA fantasy about a young girl who poses as a boy to compete for the role of imperial tailor and embarks on an impossible journey to sew three magic dresses, from the sun, the moon, and the stars. Like aaaahhhh! Sounds so great!

1.) The Belles (The Belles #1) by Dhonielle Clayton

This cover is just straight up pretty, it’s also a very beauty driven book (from what I can guess) so it being so pretty makes sense. This is set in a dystopian world where Belles control beauty and beauty is coveted above all else, people are born gray and only Belles can help transform them and make them beautiful. I’m excited to give this one a try because the world building sounds great!
