Spooky Halloween Tag (Non-Bookish)

Top Ten Tuesday(94)

Another fun Halloween tag and one that is more for fun than anything else since this isn’t directly book related. Hopefully you’ll all have fun reading through this, answering the questions took FOREVER!

****This is a very long post so if you don’t like long posts don’t read it!****

Spooky Halloween Tag created by Simply Kenna.

my page divider

1. Favorite horror or Halloween-themed song?

“Ghostbusters” of course, it’s definitely my favorite Halloween jam!

2. Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building.

I think the better question would be what WOULD I want to run into? Because the list is quite long for things I don’t want to see! Serial killers, rabid animals, malevolent spirits, creepy dolls, disembodied children’s voices, and anything doing that creepy ass disjointed crawling. Also if I was in the forest part of this question I wouldn’t want to run into any branches or tree roots either….just saying.

3. Have you ever played with a Ouija Board?

HELL NO! AND I WON’T EITHER! I just think “hey, whatever you believe in ghosts or no ghosts you still don’t want to be inviting anything you can’t see to come and talk to you”.

Image result for fuck that shit gif

4. Favorite horror monster or villain?

Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise! Why, you may ask? I enjoy the movies and I just really love Jason, I can’t explain it!

5. The creepiest thing that’s ever happened while you were alone?

Creepy things don’t really seem to seek me out so I don’t have many experiences with anything REALLY creepy but I have one that’s slightly serious and one that is just plain funny, both involve me by myself with my family’s dog. She put up with a lot of my crap now that I think of it, bless her.

Funny Story: One summer day back when I was still in high school I was home alone with my dog, Duchess, and heard a LOUD crash from upstairs and of course being the horror movie lover I am I definitely was NOT going to go look! Instead these thoughts ran through my mind: I’m a teenage girl, home alone, during the summer, in the woods, in the middle of nowhere, and someone may or may not have broken into the house to come murder me. So instead of grabbing a phone or even the dog I ran out the door barefoot and hid in my dad’s other garage until my mom got home! Slightly embarrassing.

So the slightly creepy story is this: once again it’s a summer night when I was home alone (no I don’t have absent family members but I did stay home a lot!) with Duchess and the power went out during a storm. I’m immediately on high alert, this is the generic set up for a lot of horror movies after all! I grab a single flashlight and hunker down in the porch corner with Duchess and sit….waiting for the power to come back on, when suddenly Duchess becomes fixated on something in the kitchen. The dark kitchen….in a corner. I aim my light over and see nothing and try to tell her to calm down since nothing was there but she remained fixated on the spot. I don’t remember what happened much after that, but it definitely creeped me the hell out!

6. If you were dared to spend the night in a “haunted house”, would you do it?

I guess this depends on the exact context of the situation such as: do I have to do it alone? I have a ridiculously over active imagination on top of anxiety so if I was alone I would probably think all sorts of things were trying to get me and my answer would be no. Otherwise if I had at least one other person with me it could make for a very interesting experience!

7. Are you superstitious?

In the sense of “am I afraid to walk under ladders” type of superstition? No not really. In the sense of “do I believe in ghosts and psychics”? Yes, I do.

8. Do you ever see figures in your peripheral vision?

I used to when I was smaller when I was playing outside alone and such but I don’t really anymore.

9. Which urban legend scares you the most?

Definitely Bloody Mary especially after watching the Supernatural episode that features her. Another one is the “Killer in the backseat” urban legend which is exactly what it sounds like, driving alone in your car at night with a killer hiding in your backseat. I honestly always check mine before I start driving.

10. Do you prefer gore or thrillers?

Both, I don’t prefer one over the other!

11. Do you believe in multiple dimensions or worlds?

Not really, no. Would that be awesome? Definitely.

12. Ever made a potion of any sort?

Nope. I used to try when I was kid but I never tried in a serious manner.

13. Do you get scared easily?

Not really. I can sit and watch loads of scary movies, read horror books, or go through the haunted houses people set up and while I may jump I’m always having fun and not actually scared. I’ve been watching scary movies since I was a kid because my mom loves them so I’ve kind of been desensitized to them over the years.

14. Have you ever played Bloody Mary?

Yes, unfortunately. My friend talked me into it at a Halloween party and we did it, against my better judgement because I do firmly believe one should not go about inviting things unseen into your house. The only thing that happened was a creepy thud against the mirror on the wall, was it someone messing with us? Could be. No one else was in the house though.

15. Do you believe in demons/the devil?

Yes, I do. This also goes hand in hand with my belief one should not go inviting unseen things into your presence.

16. You’re home alone but you hear footsteps in your house, what do you do?

Ha! Reminds me of the story I told in Question #5 in which case I run outside immediately regardless of things such as wearing shoes. Also I would grab my damn phone and call the cops right away too!

17. If you got trapped in one scary movie, which would you choose?

Probably Halloween because I feel like I’d have a good chance of surviving since it’s a plain old slasher in an urban area. It’s not out in the woods in the middle of nowhere like with Friday the 13th! I am not equipped for ghosts, supernatural creatures, or fighting in my dreams but I think I could handle Michael Myers!

18. If you could only wear one Halloween costume for the rest of your life, what would you be?

I’d probably want to wear a pirate costume forever because pirates look cool and it’d be awesome. But if I have to pick a costume I already have then I’d be Batgirl for eternity because that costume was flattering!

19. Would you ever go to a graveyard at night?

Why not? As long as there aren’t any idiots running around being disrespectful towards the graves and the dead it’d be fine. There’s nothing inherently creepy about graveyards to me.

20. In a zombie apocalypse what is your weapon of choice?

I’d love to be a badass lugging a chainsaw around or a sword but that’s just not practical so I’ll go with my hunting rifle since I know how to use it and it’s relatively easy to handle.

21. Would you rather go to a Halloween party or go trick or treating?

Halloween party! Sometimes they have candy too!

22. You’re in a horror movie. Are you the final girl, the first to die, the comic relief, the skeptic, the smart one, or the killer?

I think I’d be a tie between the final girl and the comic relief! I’ve seen enough horror movies to know the “rules” so I could make it to the end of the movie in that sense but also I may just be clowning around too even though I’m probably not that funny to other people!

23. Do you have to watch something happy after watching a horror movie so you can go to sleep?

Sometimes if the movie was that good! Usually I don’t though because as I said earlier years of scary movies have desensitized me.

24. Whilst watching scary movies, are you the person who yells at the characters, the person with their eyes covered the whole time, or the person who falls asleep?

Definitely the person who is yelling at the characters! Because come on just follow the rules, don’t be stupid, and you’ll live! Someone told you don’t go into the basement? Then don’t go into the basement!

25. Are you the one who gets scared, or the one who does the scaring?

One who does the scaring, I’m a jerk like that. I’m the person who would sit around the fire at the lake and tell stories to scare my little cousins and the person who dresses up for Halloween parties in secret just to jump out and scare people!

26. Favorite scary book?

“Daughters Unto Devils” by Amy Lukavics. It’s terrifying, gory, and twisted!

27. How old were you when you saw your first horror movie?

Younger than I care to remember just because I’d walk into the room and my dad would be watching Child’s Play and fall asleep and my dumb ass would sit down and watch! The first one I CAN remember watching was when I was 10 and I watched The Grudge. I don’t recommend watching that young because both Child’s Play and The Grudge haunt my dreams and I’m forever terrified of disjointed crawling Asian ghosts and dolls.

28. What was your first Halloween costume?

Probably a pumpkin when I was a baby but the first real costume I remember picking for myself was Queen Amidala from Star Wars!

29. What are you going to be for Halloween this year?

I’m actually going as a young Shanks from the anime Once Piece and my boyfriend is going as Trafalgar Law! If you’re familiar with that show at all you’ll know what I’m talking about, I’m super excited to wear it to parties!

30. If you could have a spooky Halloween pet (black cat, owl, bat, rat, wolf), what would you pick?

Black cat! I used to have one named Tinkerbell and she was such a grump sometimes but she adored me. Black cats are gorgeous.

The Leonardo DiCaprio Book Tag

The Leonardo DiCaprio Book Tag

Hello fellow book lovers!

I figured it was about time for another book tag and what better, random book tag to do than one about Leonardo DiCaprio?! Because we all love Leo, right? I know I do!

This tag was created by gingerreadslainey; video.

my page divider

Image result for growing pains leo dicaprio

1.) Growing Pains – A book you read before it was popular (or hyped-up)

Image result for shadow and bone book cover

This book was one that I read way back before I started blogging and it was also before the entire trilogy was out too. So I mean “technically” I read it before it was super popular, especially since I didn’t really know if it was popular or not anyways…..still counts! I didn’t love it as much as everyone else anyways though!

Image result for leo dicaprio and tobey maguire

2.) Tobey Maguire – Your favorite book best friends

Image result for queens of geek

I’ve got a few but the ones freshest in my mind would be Jamie, Taylor, and Charlie in “Queens of Geek”. They were all so geeky and adorable and they treated each other all so well too, positive friendships for the win!

Image result for kate winslet and leonardo dicaprio

3.) Kate Winslet – Your OTP

Image result for a gentleman's guide to vice and virtue

Of course I have many, many, many OTPs but the most recent one that I adore to bits and pieces would have to be Monty and Percy from “A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue”. They were both so clueless to the other’s feelings when they were clearly in love with each other, I loved that they finally got together!

Related image

4.) Titanic – A book that made you cry or emotionally distressed

Image result for red rising

I usually don’t cry while reading books, they have to be pretty darn sad to get me to shed actual tears. I haven’t cried while reading a book in years until I read “Red Rising” in which the first few chapters had me bawling, I had to put the book down and have a good cry about it.

Image result for martin scorsese and leonardo dicaprio

5.) Martin Scorsese – An author you will always buy their books no matter what

Image result for ve schwab

I have a few other authors I’d auto-buy but V.E. Schwab is the Queen! Her books are always so unique, well-written, and full of action!

Image result for leo dicaprio and vs model

6.) Victoria’s Secret Models – A genre you will always go back to

Fantasy is my most loved genre so of course I will always go back to it, there’s nothing like getting immersed and lost in a creative, unique, and new world!

Image result for happy meme leo

7.) Happy Meme Leo – A character that makes you smile

Image result for the martian book

Mark Watney from “The Martian” is honestly one of the funniest characters I’ve come across in a book. Seriously, I laughed my way through a lot of that book…..you know when my brain wasn’t overloading from all of the science and math bits!

Image result for leo dicaprio character collage

8.) Every Leo Character – Your favorite complex characters

Image result for vicious book cover

The best, most complex, and morally ambiguous characters can be found in “Vicious”! Seriously some of the best characters I’ve ever come across in a book, hands down!

Image result for leo dicaprio oscar

9.) Leonardo NoOSCARo (but now he does!) – A book that doesn’t get the recognition it deserves!

Image result for kingdom of ash and briars

I know I sound like a broken record but this is one of the most underrated books I’ve read and it’s just plain fantastic! A great magical realm that also combines four retellings: Sleeping Beauty, Hua Mulan, Cinderella, and Jane Austen’s Emma!

New York Times By The Book Tag

Top Ten Tuesday (22)

I was tagged A SUPER long time ago to do this by the wonderful Jessica @ The Awkward Book Blogger! Be sure to head over and not only check out her answers for this as well but to just check out her amazing blog! Thanks for tagging me Jessica (it only took me a year haha!)

my page divider

What book is on your nightstand right now?

Image result for zero repeat forever

I’m currently reading my ARC of this book which is about an alien invasion told from the POV of both one of the invading aliens as well as a surviving teenage girl. So far it’s interesting but not really anything special.

What was the last truly great book you read?

Image result for gentleman's guide to vice and virtueImage result for queens of geek

It’s a tie since I finished both of these recently and honestly can’t choose between them! “Gentleman’s Guide” was the the funnest book I’ve read in a while full of adventure, good humor, fantastic writing, and the most adorable of romances (which is also M/M!). While “Queens of Geek” was also a ton of fun I mostly really enjoyed how diverse and relatable the characters all were, the geek culture, and how positively many issues were handled!

If you could meet one author (living or dead), who would it be? What would you ask?

Image result for jk rowling

I’m sure almost everyone says this but I’ll have to go with J.K. Rowling because while I could hold a good conversation with many of my favorite authors I just feel I’d have so much more to ask her! I’d love to know how she came up with so many different aspects of the Harry Potter universe but mostly I’d have to ask why she chose Harry to end up with Ginny. My inquiring, nosy, Harry x Hermione loving mind would like to know!

What books might we be surprised to see on your shelf?

Image result for vampire academy series

The Vampire Academy series probably! I’m not really one for any urban fantasy books anymore and I really don’t like a lot of trope-filled YA romances so I think it’s at least slightly surprising to see I have the entire Vampire Academy series. I really loved this series though!

How do you organize your personal library?

I kind of….don’t really. I of course keep series together and books with the same authors together but other than that it’s pretty much a free for all. I keep the books I’m going to read soon along with books I read and loved on the top to middle shelves and the books I’m not going to read for a while or didn’t enjoy as much on the bottom shelves.

What book have you always meant to read but haven’t gotten around to yet?

Image result for the lord of the rings by jrr tolkien

I’m actually really ashamed of myself for this because while I did read “The Hobbit” and absolutely worship all of the movies I just haven’t read this one yet. The writing is a little harder to click with but I keep telling myself I’m going to read it eventually!

Disappointing, overrated, just not good: what book did you feel you were supposed to like but didn’t?

Image result for one of us is lying

I usually like YA mystery/thrillers and I thought I’d love this one especially since it drew some inspiration from The Breakfast Club (which I love) but it was not for me at all. I thought it was pretty cliched and didn’t spend enough time building up suspense or thrills either.

What kind of stories are you drawn to?

Fantasy stories for sure, there’s just something about being transported to a completely new and imaginative world! I find that for the most part Fantasy is a genre that is more complex and immersive and the biggest part of why I read is to be immersed in new worlds and stories.

If you could require the president to read one book, what would it be?

Image result for harry potter booksImage result for the hate u give

Harry Potter is just kind of my for fun answer because…it’s Harry Potter but honestly out of the books I have read I feel “The Hate U Give” is a very powerful, moving, and important read and I feel someone in such a position of power could benefit from reading it.

What do you plan to read next?

Image result for mask of shadows by linsey miller

I have an ARC of this book as well which is being released at the end of the month so I’m planning on reading it next!

1. What was the last book you marked as “read?”

The Wicked + The Divine, Vol. 1: The Faust Act by Kieron Gillen

Image result for the wicked + the divine volume 1

This is a graphic novel so it may be cheating a little bit (if it is the last BOOK I read was “One of Us is Lying”). I haven’t reviewed this one yet as I finished it yesterday but it will be a glowing review, it was absolutely amazing! The art style was awesome and the story was even awesome-er, highly recommend it by the way!

2. What was the last book you marked as TBR?

The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke

(No Cover Yet)

The last two books I’ve read by this author were really “meh” so you might be wondering why I’d add another one of her books. Well, it’s really hard to pass up a book that’s described as being a “genderbent Beowulf re-imagining” because that sounds PERFECT and also BADASS! I’m definitely more than willing to give Tucholke another go just for this premise!

3. What book do you plan to read next?

Well I had a TBR set up for June but I also went to my library and they had a bunch of new releases so this is really a toss up. I’m terrible about sticking to reading plans, I’m sorry! However, I really want to make sure I finish up the books I borrowed first so I don’t really know. Either:

Lost Boy: The True Story of Captain Hook by Christina Henry

Image result for lost boy christina henry

or

Dreamfall by Amy Plum

Image result for dreamfall amy plum

4. Do you use the star rating system?

Of course! Although I try to be a bit pickier with my ratings because I don’t really like when other people rate EVERYTHING 4 or 5 stars.

5. Are you doing the 2017 Reading Challenge?

Yes I am! My goal is 80 books this year and currently I’m at 31 books read. So I’m 5 books behind schedule, yikes! However, I did factor in that I’d be reading shorter books as well as graphic novels so I’ll catch up eventually.

6. Do you have a wishlist?

Does any book lover NOT have a wishlist? I have a list of books I “need to buy” and wait until they have a decent prices so I can get a copy!

7. Which book do you plan on buying next?

Image result for when dimple met rishiImage result for bad romance heather demetrios

Currently I’m torn between When Dimple Met Rishi and Bad Romance! If you’ve had a chance to read either of these let me know what you thought in the comments down below and help me make up my mind!

8. Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few.

“The books we love, they love us back, And just as we mark our places in the pages, those pages leave their marks on us. I can see it in you, sure as I see it in me. You’re a daughter of words. A girl with a story to tell.” – Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

“Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.” – Vicious by V.E. Schwab

9. Who are your favorite authors?

Jay Kristoff, V.E. Schwab, Laini Taylor, Christina Henry, Amy Lukavics, Rick Riordan, J.K. Rowling (obviously!), & Gillian Flynn.

These are all authors I’ve read multiple books by and loved all of them!

10. Have you joined any groups?

Top 5 Wednesday & Hype or Like Friday! I don’t join the topics as much but these are both fantastic and fun groups to join!

I was tagged to do this amazing book tag by my friend Michelle @ Book Adventures! Thank you Michelle and you guys be sure to head over and not only check out her answers for this but also her amazing blog! I mean it…..do it, do it now!

This tag was originally created by Booktuber Hailey in Bookland.

The Original Sims – The best author debut.

Image result for kingdom of ash and briars

Kingdom of Ash and Briars by Hannah West

This was an absolutely excellent debut and I cannot wait to read more by this author, she did such a wonderful job with her world building and weaving so many different fairy tale retellings into it! (highly recommend checking this out by the way!)

The Grim Reaper – Saddest character death.

*****WARNING: SPOILERS FOR HARRY POTTER BELOW!!!*****

(Even though I feel like everyone knows anyways….)

Image result for harry potter character deaths

How about just all of the Harry Potter deaths, that about sums it up. These all DESTROYED ME!

*****END SPOILERS*****

Sims Getting Stuck – A character that just got in the way.

Image result for fate of flames

Maia from  “Fate of Flames” is one of the most worthless characters I’ve ever come across, she was the main character and I feel like she did nothing but get in the way and fuck everything up!

Simlish – A book with amazing writing.

Image result for daughter of smoke and boneImage result for lips touch three timesImage result for the forbidden wish

“Daughter of Smoke and Bone” & “Lips Touch: Three Times” by Laini Taylor, seriously has the most gorgeous writing ever! Also “The Forbidden Wish” by Jessica Khoury deserves an honorable mention as well!

Expansion Packs – A series where the books keep on getting better.

Image result for inkheart trilogy

I read this a long time ago when I was in middle school but I read “Inkheart” and it was good but nothing crazy amazing but when I read the sequel “Inkspell” it blew my mind! It was so much better! The finale “Inkdeath” is just as good as well. Definitely a series that got better as it went.

Sim Romance – The worst case of insta-love.

Image result for blackhearts book cover

Of course there are PLENTY of YA books that have insta-love but this book was one of the worst ones because of said insta-love but also because this book turned out to be more insta-lovey romance than anything that involved pirates. I was infuriated, I don’t think I’ve ever been more mad at a book….

Cheats – A book that was entirely unrealistic.

Image result for throne of glass book cover

I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi so technically ALL the books I read are unrealistic….but I’ll go with “Throne of Glass” being unrealistic anyways since the main character is supposed to be the deadliest assassin in the kingdom and she spend the book 1.) not killing anyone 2.) talking about shoes and dresses 3.) being moony-eyed over TWO different boys and 4.) complaining.

So yeah I would say this was unrealistic…..

Needs Fulfillment – A character who made all the wrong decisions.

Image result for fate of flames

Maia from “Fate of Flames”. Again.

Error Code 12 – A series that started off great but went downhill from there.

Image result for the house of night series books marked through revealed

I actually haven’t really finished a ton of series, I’m good at starting them and never finish them but one that definitely got WORSE was the “House of Night” series by P.C. & Kirsten Cast. I read the first book and it was just okay but that series just kept going on and on and on and on needlessly. I don’ even know why I continued with it for as long as I did!

The Sims Vortex – A book/series that completely engrossed you.

Image result for gone book seriesImage result for jasper dent series

I’m going to go with both the “Gone” series by Michael Grant and the “Jasper Dent” series by Barry Lyga. Both are absolutely amazing and pretty dark,  and I was obsessed with both of them and could not stop reading until I finished both series!

Totally Should’ve… Book Tag

top-ten-tuesday43

I was tagged to do this ages ago by Anna @ My Bookish Dream, sorry this has literally taken me forever to do but thanks Anna for tagging me! Be sure to head over and check out Anna’s answers as well as her blog she’s fantastic and super fun to chat books with!

my page divider

Totally Should’ve…Gotten A Sequel:

Image result for kingdom of ash and briars

I just loved this world and these characters so much I would have loved for this to have a sequel if not a series! Granted it was a combination of retellings as well as its own story but I feel like the author could have kept going using different fairy tales (similar to what Marissa Meyer did with her Lunar Chronicles). Now excuse me while I go cry over this book again….

Totally Should’ve…Had A Spin Off Series:

Image result for alice christina henry

There really aren’t too many series that I have personally finished that I think would have a spin-off series work so I’ll just go with the Chronicles of Alice duology by Christina Henry. To be more specific I’d love to read a book/duology/series about Henry’s Cheshire character which I thought she did a remarkable job on, I also think it’d be pretty easy since there was more than enough information left unsaid about him too!

An Author Who Totally Should’ve…Written More Books:

Image result for gillian flynn

Gillian Flynn! She only has 4 books out total and one of them is a short story! She is an exceptional writer and I have loved every single one of her books and I need more, hopefully she’ll be getting back in the game eventually…..

A Character Who Totally Should’ve… Ended Up With Someone Else:

Image result for harry and hermione ship

I don’t really care too much about any romances in the books I’ve read or if I do (which takes a LOT, trust me) I actually like who the end up with. But I suppose for the sake of answering this question I’ll go with Harry Potter who I thought would have been better with Hermoine. I didn’t really like Ginny (especially in the movies) I felt she was just kind of blah and I just felt Harry and Hermoine would have been better.

Totally Should’ve…Had A Movie Franchise:

Image result for vicious book cover

Okay so this may be cheating a little since I don’t think this book would need a franchise but it DOES need a movie adaptation stat! It’s got morally ambiguous, super-powered characters and there’s a dog, what more could you want in a movie? Plus the powers in this book are straight up awesome and pretty unique!

Totally Should’ve…Had A TV Show:

Image result for the monstrumologist

I think this book/series (from what I’ve read) would make an excellent TV show because there’s just a lot of content and it can also get pretty dark at times. It’d be interesting to watch for sure!

Totally Should’ve…Had Only One Point Of View:

Image result for the rose and the dagger

Not sure about this one since I usually enjoy multiple POVs but I think maybe one that I didn’t particularly  enjoy was “The Rose & The Dagger”. I didn’t like Shazi’s sister’s POV really at all.

Totally Should’ve…Had A Cover Change:

Image result for truthwitch book cover

Most of the time I like the original covers better but one I think could use a cover change is “Truthwitch” even though the series is currently ongoing (I hate when there are cover changes mid-series). The covers just aren’t that pretty and I don’t think it really shows exactly what the books are about either.

Totally Should’ve…Kept The Original Covers:

Image result for the winner's trilogy new covers

I do NOT like the new covers for the Winner’s Trilogy (the ones on the bottom) because I don’t feel like they show Kestrel as she is at all, especially that first cover! Sure Kestrel was trained to use weapons but if you’ve read the book then you know she is NOT good with them and instead is more focused on strategy. Not that the original covers show her much better but at least they’re nicer looking in my opinion.

Totally Should’ve…Stopped At Book One

Image result for the diabolic

I think you guys all know how I feel about this book being marketed as a standalone and then all of a sudden it’s a trilogy? No. Do not wrap up a book completely and say it’s a standalone and then go and decide to make it a series. Just no. Like I said this book was wrapped up nicely and with no loose ends, so why couldn’t we just leave it that way? Should have stopped at book one.

my page divider

I’m not going to tag anyone to do this one because I feel I tag the same people and you all have a huge pile of tags to do because of me, haha!

Feel free to do this tag if you want!

The Jingle Bell Tag

Top Ten Tuesday (7).jpg

December is of course going to be the month where I fill this blog full of Christmas posts and end of the year bookish lists so what better way to kick that off then to start out with the first Christmas book tag I was tagged in?

This tag was created by Richard @ The Humpo Show who also tagged me to do this wonderful book tag! Be sure to head over and check the original tag out as well as Richard’s awesome blog! I was also tagged by Michelle @ Book Adventures who is one of my best blogging buddies so of course I’m going to yell at all of you to get over there and follow her blog!

“All I Want For Christmas Is You…” | What book do you want to see under the Christmas Tree?

The Night Circus

So I gave out a semi-biggish list of books I want for Christmas but I’m REALLY hoping I get “The Night Circus”! This is such a popular book and EVERYONE seems to love it so I want to see what all the hype is about. Also this way Michelle @ Book Adventures can be satisfied, haha!

“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time…” | What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?

SO MANY! But I’ll go with “Illuminae” by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman because it’s action packed and uniquely formatted.

You can read my full review of “Illuminae” here.

“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” | Which book has the most festive look to it?

Kingdom of Ash and Briars

I don’t really have many festive (or Christmas themed) books but I think “Kingdom of Ash and Briars” fits this time of year pretty well as it has a very winter-y and pretty cover.

You can read my full review of “Kingdom of Ash and Briars” here.

Elf | What book unleashes your inner child?

Harry Potter is the only honest answer I can really give and I know most people will answers with this but hey whatever! Harry Potter pretty much IS my childhood after all.

The Grinch | Your favorite villain…

Okay so BESIDES Harry Potter characters I’ll go with my favorite anti-hero/villain kind of: Victor Vale from “Vicious” by V.E. Schwab.

You can read my full review of “Vicious” here.

The Holiday | Name your favorite TWO couples…

Without saying all of the obvious, fantastic Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings couples…..

Karou & Akiva “Daughter of Smoke and Bone” by Laini Taylor

The forbidden love trope at it’s finest.

Zahra & Aladdin “The Forbidden Wish” by Jessica Khoury

These two had a slow-burn and their romance was so adorable that I couldn’t help but love them together.

I talk a lot more about why I loved these romances in my full reviews!

What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?

Okay so I mentioned “Kingdom of Ash and Briars” earlier and I’d love to pick it again (because it’s underrated and FANTASTIC) but I’ll pick a different book: “My Lady Jane” by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows. I think this is a great book everyone should read and that I also think will suit most tastes! I really wish I could get you all a copy of this……
