Monthly TBR
August TBR
I’m really looking forward to my TBR this month especially since I actually completed my TBR last month, and it was pretty ambitious for me! I, once again, have a pile of ARCs I’m going to try and get through this month!
July TBR
It’s a bit late for my TBR post but at the same time it’s not really, it just feels late to me for some reason! I’ve got a PILE of ARCs to get through quick this month so hopefully I can do it, so far so good! I did make it through 2 books already this month so I’m still going to include them as well as my current read, just to keep you guys in the loop.
June TBR
Lately I’ve been trying to cram my TBRs and that just, obviously, doesn’t work out the best. So I’ve got a slightly ambitious but yet slightly more toned down TBR for this month! Hopefully I can squeeze a few more in but that’s because I have quite a few ARCs due for July.
April TBR (a.k.a Leftover March TBR That I Failed At)
So this is going to be one damn ambitious TBR but since I failed a bit with my other overly ambitious March TBR I’m going to need to crack down this month! I have a TON of ARCs to get through and a few library books as well, actually now that I look at these they are all ARCs except for the graphic novels! Yikes!
I will start with listing the “new” TBR books first and then list the ones I still need to read that were included last month! That way you don’t have to see any repeats right away.
March TBR
So I have got a TON of library books and ARCs to get through this month so this TBR is going to be pretty big! Hopefully I can get through all of them too, so far “The Heart Forger” has put me in a bit of a slump because it’s awfully slow but I’m sure one of these books can help me out of it.
January TBR
So since I actually completed a monthly TBR last month I figured I go for it again, and keep my expectations realisitc! Once again I have quite a few ARCs to get through this month and a couple library books (why do I keep getting library books when I have so many physical TBR books? The world may never know.) but if I get through all of them I’ll have a couple “bonus” books to try and squeeze in as well!
I’m also planning on doing the “Beat the Backlist” challenge this year so be on the look out for that post as I will be listing all of my backlist books I plan on reading!
Honor Among Thieves by Rachel Caine & Ann Aguirre
This might be cheating a little bit since I finished it yesterday but still counts! I wasn’t as impressed as I was expecting to be but it was still an entertaining read, I’m a sucker for a good action-packed sci-fi.
Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston
My current read at the moment this is kind of fantasy and sci-fi mixed together complete with emperors, kingdoms, robots, and space pirates! So far it’s really great with lots of action and interesting world building.
The Tombs by Deborah Schaumberg
Normally I’m not one for historical fiction, it really depends. However, this one has….super powers? I feel like that’s the best way to describe it or maybe more like psyhic abilities. Anyways it sounds great!
Fire & Bone by Rachel A. Marks
An urban fantasy featuring a main character who discovers she’s the daughter of a Celtic goddess. I think it sounds interesting because Celtic mythology is something I don’t see very often and would definitely enjoy reading about, however, there does seem to be a love triangle so I am a little leery.
The Ravenous by Amy Lukavics
So I do really enjoy Lukavics’ books but I heard this one wasn’t her best so I borrowed it from the library just because I want to see for myself!
Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody
Also borrowed from the library I wanted to give it a read before reading my ARC of “Ace of Shades” just for fun. I’ve heard lots of good things about it so I’m excited.
Locke & Key Volumes 2 and 3 by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez
I’m slowly picking through the graphic novels available at my library and actually really narrowing it down. I decided to continue with this series and see if it interests me enough to continue further with it.
BONUS BOOKS!
As I mentioned, I don’t want to pressure myself too much but IF I get through the other 8 books I have 2 more on deck!
The Heart Forger (The Bone Witch #2) by Rin Chupeco
I really loved the dark fantasy world in “The Bone Witch” and I’m very excited to continue on with the series with this ARC!
Golden Son (Red Rising #2) by Pierce Brown
I finally got a copy for Christmas so I am ready to devour the last two in preparation for “Iron Gold” that comes out this month!
Are any of these books on your TBR?
Have you read any of these, what did you think?

December TBR
This month’s TBR is pretty much ARCs and library books so basically all books that I have a deadline to meet with. Since I did so well with reading last month I’m hoping to keep the ball rolling into December and get through all of these!
No Saints in Kansas by Amy Brashear
This is an ARC I should have read a while ago since it released last month but I also had a ton of other books to get through. I’m finally reading it! It isn’t terrible so far but it isn’t the best either, I’m wondering how it will turn out. It’s a retelling of Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood” which is definitely an interesting idea.
Ms Marvel, Volume 1: No Normal by G. Willow Wilson
I’ve actually heard quite a few good things about this graphic novel/comic (I guess I’m not sure which one it qualifies as specifically) and since it was finally available at my library I decided to grab it and see what I think!
Paper Girls, Volume 2 by Brian K. Vaughan
I really enjoyed Volume 1 and placed the second Volume on hold at my library so I’m looking forward to continuing!
The Wicked + The Divine, Volume 5: Imperial Phase 1
I HAVE BEEN DYING TO READ THIS! I FINALLY HAVE A COPY ON IT’S WAY TO ME!
Saga, Volume 7 by Brian K. Vaughan
After that cliffhanger in Volume 6 I REALLY need to find out what happens next. This series has gotten a lot better for me at first I was “meh” but now I’m invested!
There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins
At first I was a little leery of this book since it hasn’t been getting the best of reviews but after reading the lovely Destiny’s review I’ve been given hope! I’m excited to read it now and just see what I personally think of it.
Between The Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking
I recently received an ARC of this and will be participating in a blog tour coming up this month! I’m pretty excited about the book and the blog tour since I’ve never been a part of one before!
Final Girls by Riley Sager
This is another book I’ve been hearing mixed things on but I was SO freaking excited for it so I decided to borrow it from the library that way I’m not wasting my money if it isn’t as good.
A Conspiracy of Stars by Olivia A. Cole
Another ARC I recently received and releases next month! It’s a YA sci-fi and I’m definitely excited to read it here, the cover is just gorgeous.
The Wicker King by K. Ancrum
I have been waiting for the library to get this book in and I jumped on it right away! I’m curious about it since it seems like an interesting psychological thriller.

(A Very ARC Loaded) September TBR
This month’s TBR makes me think I really, really should have participated in ARC August….because these are ALL ARCs. I have got a TON of reading to do this month! I’m hoping I can get out of my mini reading slump here and power through all of these books because I really am excited to read all of them.
Girls Made of Snow & Glass by Melissa Bashardoust
This is a Snow White retelling that I’m currently trying to power through, it’s very interesting but the pacing is extremely uneven and I’m stuck in a super slow part at the moment.
Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel
I feel terrible I didn’t get to this one last month like I was supposed to. This may or may not be my cup of tea since it seems very romance-focused but hopefully the whole “harbinger of death” thing will keep things interesting!
Nyxia by Scott Reintgen
This is a sci-fi novel about a character who is recruited by a corporation to leave Earth and mine a new valuable resource on another planet. However, this planet was kept secret and that’s not all the corporation is hiding. It sounds pretty exciting so I’m hoping it proves worth while!
The Devils You Know by M.C. Atwood
A group of seniors travel to Boulder House for their senior trip but the house is said to be cursed. When the characters get separated from the rest of their group they realize the truth is much more horrifying. Of course I’m always up for some YA horror, hopefully it’s thrilling!
The Tiger’s Daughter by K. Arsenault Rivera
Two young female warriors, whose births were prophesied, must save the world from demons. Sounds badass, period.
The Hanging Girl by Eileen Cook
Skye has been faking tarot card readings for a while but when the police ask her to help find a missing girl she already has some inside information. The kidnapping was planned and she was going to get a cut but things have taken a dark turn and she must find them before it’s too late. This sounds both spooky and thrilling so hopefully it will be a great read!
The Hollow Girl by Hillary Monahan
Bethan is an apprentice green healer in a clan of Welsh-Romanies, however, all isn’t well as the son of the chieftain and his friends brutally assault both Bethan and her friend Martyn. Bethan wants to bring Martyn back from death’s door but is told the price of the magic required is gruesome. When the boys who attacked her don’t come forward and apologize she knows where to collect those ingredients…..
This sounds super creepy and I’m really excited to get to it, I loooove YA horror!
This Darkness Mine by Mindy McGinnis
Sasha has everything working out for her: first chair clarinet, top of her class, the perfect boyfriend, and she has her way to being a star musician free and clear. However, a new guy shows up and she finds herself drawn to him and missing his touch even though she’s never met him. She then discovers she absorbed her twin in the womb which may explain her missing memories……
This is another books that sounds strangely creepy yet very mysterious and thrilling, I’m hoping it pans out!
Gray Wolf Island Tracey Neithercott
Right before her sister died she asked Ruby to find the treasure on Gray Wolf Island, armed with a treasure map and a few friends who are all touched by magic. However, each friend is keeping a secret and they must reveal it in order to reach the treasure.
Is it just me or are there not enough treasure themed books? This sounds really unique and compelling!

July TBR
Right when I was thinking I was getting better about sticking to my TBRs my June TBR happened……. I am so sorry June TBR! However, I’m going to shoot a little lower this month in the hopes that I can actually not be a huge disappointment! Yay!
Dreamfall by Amy Plum
This book is about a bunch of teens suffering from insomnia who signed up for an experiment to cure them. However, there’s a malfunction that sends them all into a shared dreamscape full of their worst nightmares.
So this honestly sounds a little bit like horror but also maybe thriller or sci-fi too? Kind of confusing but I’m currently reading this one and so far it’s pretty good!
Want by Cindy Pon
This book actually really wasn’t on my radar at all until I finally read the synopsis and saw all of the glowing reviews! It’s about a futuristic/dystopian society where the rich buy special suits to protect them from pollution and disease and Jason Zhou is going to do anything it takes to stop the corruption: including infiltrating the international Jin Corporation and destroying it from within.
Sounds badass, honestly!
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
I’m a little on the fence with this one because on the one hand I want to read it because PIRATES but also I don’t want to read it because I don’t want to be disappointed if the piracy doesn’t live up to my expectations. However, my library got a copy so here I am ready to see if it’s worth it!
Alex + Ada, Vol. 1 by Jonathon Luna and Sarah Vaughn
I’ve heard a lot about this graphic novel so I decided to pick it up at the library as well. It’s about a man and an android and how she turns out to be more than just a robot. Graphic novels go by pretty quickly so I figured why not?
Pretty Deadly, Vol. 1: The Shrike by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Emma Rios
I found this graphic novel when I was looking for more graphic novels to borrow from the library. It’s the origin story of Death’s daughter and it’s a bit of a western. Seems cool enough!
Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde
This was the ONE book I really wanted to get to on last month’s TBR and didn’t but I WILL read it this month no matter what!
Then I’ll read this since I got it from the library as well but I also might not get time:
Broken Prince by Erin Watt
My library FINALLY got a copy of “Broken Prince” so I couldn’t help but pick it up, hopefully I will have time to get to it!
