Weekly Wrap-Up: November 15th – 21st

weekly wrap up bookish

Well this last week for me on The Sassy Book Geek was moderately busy, I don’t think I got as much done as I would have liked but oh well!

I still managed to do 3 book reviews, 3 book memes/tags, and 2 of my own posts or features.

I’m also going to take this time to let you all know that since the Thanksgiving holiday is coming up this week that I probably won’t be posting that much. I’ll be visiting family starting Wednesday, but if I can squeeze a post or two in you bet I will!

Books I Reviewed This Week

I managed to do 3 reviews this week! One was an ARC I receieved from Netgalley too, which was my first one and it was pretty exciting for me. I loved all the books I read this past week except one: “These Shallow Graves” failed to entertain me, however it wasn’t necessarily a bad book.

Book Memes & Tags

I’ve decided that I’m going to start regularly doing “Waiting On Wednesday”, I’ve done it before but I wasn’t really into it. Now I see that it’s a pretty important way for me to let you guys know about upcoming releases I’m excited for!

Other Posts I Did This Week

A new feature here on The Sassy Book Geek is one that I created and started doing: “Heather’s Bookshelf” which is a way for me to show off my own books! Hopefully I can keep that rolling too since it was a lot of fun for me.

What I’m Currently Reading

Alice

So far, so good! I’m really loving this one so far and hopefully I can get the review up by Tuesday this week, it’s not a very long book at all so I should’t have a problem.

Books on Deck

The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, #1)

I’m hoping to get started on this book FINALLY when I’m on vacation for the holiday this week.

It should be an easy enough read since I devoured the Percy Jackson series!

I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on this but I’m hoping it won’t let me down.

Books I Purchased or Received This Week

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

I have a major weak spot for good book deals and this week I found two! I could not resist buying these two books since I’ve been looking to read them for a while now and when I saw that “The Immortal Rules” on Amazon for $0.99 and “Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda” on sale on Amazon for $1.99 I HAD to have them!

I immediately downloaded both onto my Kindle, so if you guys are looking to read these two at all they are still currently on sale!

So that was my past week on The Sassy Book Geek and I hope you guys enjoyed the posts!

What did you get up to this last week? What are you planning on doing this coming week? Holiday plans or reading plans? Let me know in the comments I love to hear from you guys!

Weekly Wrap Up: November 8th – 15th

weekly wrap up bookish

Hey guys! I’ve decided to start doing Weekly Wrap-Ups to keep you all informed about posts I’ve made and what I’m currently reading etc. I got this lovely idea from Michelle over at Book Adventures, so thanks Michelle! Make sure you guys head over to her blog and check out all of her neat features!

Books I Reviewed This Week

I read and reviewed 4 books this week and it just so happens I read 2 books by Patrick Ness and 2 by Neil Gaiman.

I absolutely adored these books, although I didn’t enjoy “The Sleeper & The Spindle” as much as the others. My favorite out of these 4 I read would probably be “The Knife of Never Letting Go”.

Book Memes & Tags

I only did two of these this week, but I enjoyed doing both of them a lot! I’m very picky about what memes I participate in every week but I hope I can change that.

Other Posts I Did This Week

I did up a Winter TBR post to let you guys know what books I’ll be reading and reviewing during the holidays and I also got nominated for 3 blog awards!

What I’m Currently Reading

“Worlds of Ink and Shadow” by Lena Coakley

I received this as an ARC from Netgalley and it’s my first ARC so I’m very excited to read and finish it! So far it’s really great and it’s looking like it might be at least a 4 star read.

DWorlds of Ink and Shadowescription (From Goodreads)

Charlotte, Branwell, Emily, and Anne. The Brontë siblings have always been inseparable. After all, nothing can bond four siblings quite like life in an isolated parsonage out on the moors. Their vivid imaginations lend them escape from their strict upbringing, actually transporting them into their created worlds: the glittering Verdopolis and the romantic and melancholy Gondal. But at what price? As Branwell begins to slip into madness and the sisters feel their real lives slipping away, they must weigh the cost of their powerful imaginations, even as their characters—the brooding Rogue and dashing Duke of Zamorna—refuse to let them go.

Books on Deck

I’m actually only planning on reading one book this coming week, at least so far and that’s going to be “These Shallow Graves” by Jennifer Donnelly. Hopefully though I can get another book in this week!

These Shallow Graves

Books I Purchased or Received This Week

I only got one book this past week and that was “The 5th Wave” by Rick Yancey and since the movie will be coming out for it I need to read it some time soon!

The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1)

So that’s my weekly wrap up, I hope I did it OK! How did your guys’ weeks go or what do you have planned for the week coming up? Let me know in the comments!
