Creatures of the Night Book Tag

top-ten-tuesday-4

I was not tagged by anyone to do this but I was looking for a fun Halloween book tag to do and I found this one over at Dreamland Book Blog!

This tag was originally created by Booktuber Katytastic.

What you’re supposed to do is pick your favorite book that contains each creature of the night listed. So vampires? Pick your favorite vampire book and so on.

Also before we start… I can’t be the only one that gets that one Rocky Horror Picture Show song stuck in my head, right?

Vampire

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I never liked any of the “vampire craze” books at all but I did really enjoy this entire series. I read it a long time ago so I can’t recall much about it other than it was a lot of fun and Rose was a sassy, badass protagonist.

Honorable Mention: Dracula by Bram Stoker

Werewolf

Image result for harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

Okay soooo I have not read many werewolf books and they just are sort of untouchable for me because they mostly seem like books that went hand in hand with all of the vampire craze books. So not a big fan although I’m open to suggestions! I’ve only ever read “City of Bones” (hated it) and “Twilight” (not that great) so the only good werewolf book I have read was “Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban”! Still counts!

Zombies

Image result for rot and ruin series

Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry

I love zombie books, okay? They’re so much fun for me and I don’t know why, maybe I’m just a morbid person. This is hands down the best zombie book I have read! There’s some great action and a lot of touching moments, I cried more than a few times.

Honorable Mention: The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

Ghost

Image result for the girl from the well book cover

The Girl From The Well by Rin Chupeco

There are quite a few ghost books that I’ve enjoyed but I have to say this one is my favorite. Not only is it just very interesting but it is also terrifying and for some weird reason I love to terrify myself.

Honorable Mention: Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

Witch/Warlock/Spellcaster

Image result for beautiful creatures

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Normally I’d immediately say Harry Potter but I wanted to pick something a little different this time! I actually really enjoyed “Beautiful Creatures” when it first came out and I really loved the way they did witches in this book.

Fairy/Fae

Image result for iron king book cover

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

I have read maybe one actual fairy book and I didn’t like it so I’m going to pick  book from my TBR that I want to read! I hear good things about this series so why not?

Demon

Image result for daughters unto devils book cover

Daughters Unto Devils by Amy Lukavics

This book has the most terrifying demons and demonic possession is kind of hard to write about and still make scary, but boy did this work.

Angel

Image result for daughter of smoke and bone

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

While the angels themselves are not my favorite part of the book this is my favorite book that has angels by far, it’s amazing!

Aliens

Image result for knife of never letting go

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

I have read quite a few sci-fi books and it just occurred to me that none of them have had aliens, what? So here we are with “The Knife of Never Letting Go” which isn’t about aliens but has some in it.

Superpowered Human

Image result for vicious by v.e. schwab

Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Of course I’m going to pick “Vicious” it’s THE best book about humans with super powers there is. It just is. There’s so many interesting powers and the characters are so morally ambiguous it’s amazing!

Thanks for the tag! Oh boy, this is going to be so difficult to answer 😀 I just realised I haven’t read that many books with creatures of the night yet… Still, you can expect my answers in December! Thanks again!

You’re welcome! I didn’t think it would be as hard as it was for me, apparently I’m missing a few “creatures” haha so you’re not the only one! I’ll be waiting to read your answers then! 🙂

This one will definitely be one to work on, I don’t read tons of books with creatures like that so it’s gonna require some thinking and going through books!

I had to do the same thing! I didn’t realize how few creature books I’ve read myself! Can’t wait for your answers! 🙂

Thanks for tagging me! You’ve got some great choices here! I totally agree with Rot and Ruin, hands down one of the best zombie books I’ve read, so unique and heartfelt.

You’re welcome and thank you! I’m so excited someone else has read Rot & Ruin I don’t meet too many people who have! It definitely is very heartfelt I cried a lot during the first two books! 🙂

Thank you for tagging me and I might not do this tag because I did not really read any of these creatures – only Harry Potter and Twilight. So, I need to read more and maybe next year, I’ll be able to do this tag! 🙂

Aahh, I love this tag! Thanks for tagging me. I also got the song from Rocky Horror instantly stuck in my mind again. I’ve been singing all the songs since the revival on Fox came out, help haha

I haven’t read that many books with all these creatures. I think I have one option per most answers, that’s insane! I keep seeing the Girl from the Well and I NEED to read it. I think you’ve mentioned it before, right? It looks terrifying, I mean, look at that cover. And the myth itself is very creepy, so I’m excited to get to it one day!

I have too! So of course I wanted to do this tag because the song was stuck in my head haha.
I thought I had read lots of books with supernatural creatures but it turns out I haven’t haha! I either had one or two or no options for most!
Yes I have mention The Girl from the Well a few times because I loved it! I personally thought it was terrifying and had to flip my book over a lot because the cover is super creepy!
      Hope you enjoy it! 🙂

I also really liked Beautiful Creatures when I read it but didn’t continue with the series. Dunno why tho.

I hope you have fun with the tag! I read the sequel to Beautiful Creatures but never made it past that even though I really did like the first 2 as well. 🙂

Oooh this will be fun to do!! We’ll definitely have the same answer for the werewolf one, because I actually don’t think I’ve read any other books that have werewolves in them, haha. The Girl from the Well was so good. I really need to read Vicious and Daughters Unto Devils.

Werewolves are one of my favorite creatures so I really have no idea why I haven’t read anymore books with them in it! Well good ones anyways…
Hope you have fun with this tag! 🙂

This tag seems like so much fun. I’ll have to try to squeeze it in before Halloween. Also, I love that you picked The Iron Fey for Fairy. I loved that series. I’ll be in a toss up over that and two other fairy books lol. Thanks for the tag! 😊

I really want to read The Girl From The Well! I usually adore books about ghosts, especially when they are terrifying. (I love scaring myself as well, apparently.) Definitely need to get my hands on it!
And I have to agree, Vicious is THE book about humans with superpowers! 😉

I think you’ll probably love The Girl From The Well then! I love ghost books as well I find them more terrifying! And yes to Vicious I don’t think I’ll ever read a superhuman book as good as that one! 🙂
