Black Friday Book Haul 2016!

top-ten-tuesday-6

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it) and if you all went out shopping I hope you got everything you went out for!

I picked up more than a few books for Black Friday and even a few other books this last week as well so I’ll be throwing those in with this book haul too. 15 of these books were from Book Outlet which is my absolute favorite online shop to buy books from because they’re so cheap, no I am not an associate for them I just really LOVE good deals on books! So if you guys want in on their Black Friday deals it’s 30% off the entire website until Tuesday November 29th!

These are a few of my other great deals during the week  I got on my Kindle that are unrelated to Black Friday shopping but hey it’s a book haul! “Replica” is the only book in this bunch that I got during shopping Black Friday at Target.

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

I got this on Amazon Kindle Books for only $1.99 and everyone seems to like Libba Bray’s books so here I go. Also this is still on sale if any of you are interested I’ll leave a link!

Amazon Link: “A Great and Terrible Beauty”

The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker

This was only $2.99 on Kindle and even with quite a few negative reviews I’d like to give this one a shot. Since my library doesn’t have a copy (but they do have the sequel for some reason) I figured getting it at this price was the best way to read it. It’s currently $3.50 if any of you are interested I’ll leave a link for this as well.

Amazon Link: “The Witch Hunter”

The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd

This was on sale for $1.99 and it sounds like it may be interesting regardless of the few negative reviews I’ve read. Might as well try it especially at this price and once again I’ll leave a link!

Amazon Link: “The Madman’s Daughter”

Graceling by Kristin Cashore

This was a day only sale for $1.99 and I’ll tell you I have been waiting for a good deal on this book FOREVER! I have yet to see any negative reviews for it and I love YA Fantasy so I’m looking forward to reading it.

Replica by Lauren Oliver

I’ve been up and down about this book but seeing it for sale for $9.99 at Target on Black Friday I couldn’t let it go since this is a new release.

untitled-design6

The rest of these books are ALL of the Book Outlet website as a part of their Black Friday sale.

After The End by Amy Plum

This is a book about the world after it’s been ravaged by nuclear radiation from World War III and a girl who comes back from a hunting trip to find her entire clan gone. She sets out to find them and discovers that the world in intact and there was never any war and everything she was told is a lie.

Doesn’t that just scream interesting? I think so.

Blackbringer by Laini Taylor

A middle grade book about warrior fairies and all I have to say is: Laini Taylor. That is all.

Blood Red Road by Moira Young

This one is dystopian and for some reason it really reminds me of Mad Max so combine that with the fact that it has fabulous reviews I had to buy it.

Half the World by Joe Abercrombie

Because I need to finish this series.

Half A War by Joe Abercrombie

Again…I need to finish this series.

Charm & Strange by Stephanie Kuehn

I actually have one of Stephanie Kuehn’s other books “Delicate Monsters” which sounds amazing and so I don’t know what compelled me to buy another one when I haven’t read the other. It sounds unique and has good reviews so I couldn’t go wrong with how cheap it was as well, like $2.00 I think.

Half Bad by Sally Green

Witches and Bad Witches! There’s a lot of mixed reviews but I think the premise sounds worth reading. Plus I don’t have enough witchy books.

Jackaby by William Ritter

Recommended to me by Ariana @ The Quirky Book Nerd and I’ve been dragging my feet on borrowing it from the library so now that I have my own copy I won’t have an excuse.

Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott

I was curious about this book before but after reading Lauren @ Wonderless Review’s review of it I had to get it.

Origin by Jessica Khoury

So I absolutely loved Jessica Khoury’s other book “The Forbidden Wish” and if the writing in this one is half as good as it was in that one it will be worth it.

untitled-design8

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

Dragons. That is all.

The Book of Blood and Shadow by Robin Wasserman

I’ve heard this being referred to as YA “Da Vinci Code” and that’s all I need to know. I love “puzzle” books if that makes sense.

The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes

Great reviews have convinced me this book is worth my time and money.

The Unquiet by Mikaela Everett

Parallel universes have always interested me so a book about people being trained to kill their alternate selves and take their places sounds SO GOOD.

Zombies Vs. Unicorns by Various Authors

Just look at the title and tell me you aren’t at least a little curious.

Ooo so many great books! I have read A Great and Terrible Beauty and enjoyed it, it was something I hadn’t read before so it was a nice change of pace from my usual genre reads! Hope you enjoy it!
I also want to read Half Bad but so many mixed reviews i’ve sort of put it off, I’ll love to hear your thoughts on it!

Glad to hear A Great and Terrible Beauty is a good one! I’m curious to see what I think of it since I don’t know a whole lot about it but it seems everyone loves it!
Yes I’ve seen very mixed reviews for Half Bad as well but since it was so cheap I thought hey what the heck? Thanks Hannah! 🙂

I thought both Witch Hunter and Half Bad were pretty good. However I definitely think that the Half Bad trilogy got better with every book, especially Half Lost (book 3) – I’m still reeling over the ending.

That is an amazing book haul!!! I can’t wait till I can buy that many, I will be a very happy panda 🙂 I actually haven’t read any of these books, Seraphina is on my TBR list because it looks really good. I can’t wait to hear your reviews on these ones, I’d say I will be adding more to the TBR list 🙂

All of your choices seem great! You’re going to want to read the whole Gemma Doyle trilogy once you finish A Great and Terrible Beauty – I haven’t been able to get a hold of the next two just yet though. I couldn’t get into Graceling myself, but I hope you enjoy it! How are Joe Abercrombie’s other novels? I read Best Served Cold a few years ago and, probably because it was the first Adult Fantasy novel I had read, it took me a while to get into it and left me with an “eh” feeling. I would be willing to give him another chance though if I could be pointed in the right direction.

      Thank you!
The Gemma Doyle series seems to get a lot of love I haven’t heard anyone tell me otherwise so far either!
So far the only Joe Abercrombie book I’ve read is his YA book “Half a King” and I loved it. It has a lot of the shock factor that you see in Game of Thrones and I thought the pacing was pretty good and it didn’t really drag in any parts. Definitely a lot easier to get into than some Adult fantasy books. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you like fantasy though! 🙂

Thank you! And I have yet to have someone tell me that series isn’t anything but awesome so it must be really good, definitely excited to start it now! 🙂

Yes! I need to read the series again to be honest because I read them at they first came out. Which has been years. But I remember how much I enjoyed them!!

That’s a bigass haul! I totally understand though because when I saw that sale on Book Outlet I HAD to get some stuff too and I grabbed a Joe Abercrombie book (Half a King, I think). I was tempted to get Blackbringer because of the cover.

I know! They’re such good deals that I decided to just go nuts, I usually don’t ever buy so many books all at once! And Half a King is an amazing book I absolutely loved everything about it so I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Half Bad is on my TBR… I actually have all three books from random book hauls on bookoutlet over a year. I did a bookoutlet order on Friday but was really good, I only ordered myself two books and ordered books for the kids for Christmas 😀

That is one hefty hull! I hope you like Seraphina, super good! I can relate to the library having one book but not the other in a series. That is the story of my library system. It’s a little ridiculous how many times I’ve started something & I can’t continue right away, or wanted to start something & they had the third novel but not the first.

Well thank you! I really hope I like Seraphina as well since ya know….dragons.
At least it isn’t just my library then! It is ridiculous because what the heck is the point in having a sequel book and not the first one? It is also frustrating starting a series and not having access to the rest of it too! Library problems, haha! 🙂

        You’re welcome!
Haha yeah it’s very frustrating! Sometimes too the last copy of the book will get lost and the library won’t replace it. I’m currently in that situation, and it’s the last book in the series. Ugh 😐

Thanks! Now all I need to do is…read all of them which may take forever haha. I loved your reviews for both “Replica” and “Living Dead Girl” and they are what convince me to buy both of those books so thank you for that! I am also definitely expecting to get emotional with “Living Dead Girl” but I just feel like the overall reading experience will be worth it! 🙂

Ahh! That’s awesome. I really hope you love them even more now, haha. I always get worried when people read books I recommend which kinda defeats the purpose of what we’re all doing here but I can’t help it 😂 Definitely looking forward to seeing what you think 💕
