Books I Didn’t Get To In 2018 (But Hopefully In 2019!)

Top Ten Tuesday(4).jpg

Who can’t relate to this? So many books, so little time! Here are some books I wished I had time for in 2018 but hopefully can squeeze in this year!

I will include Goodreads links to each title in case you would like to add any as well.

Obsidio (The Illuminae Files #3) by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman

I have to say out of all the books I didn’t read last year I think I’m most mad at myself for this one. I waited so long for it to release, bought it immediately, and then proceeded to NOT read it. Why? Why did I do this to myself? Fortunately I know I will love it so I’m saving it for when I have time to devour it because I will!

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang

I think you’ll see me mentioning this one a lot since I just purchased a copy and NEED to read it because of all the glowing reviews and I’m a big fan of dark fantasies.

Godsgrave (The Nevernight Chronicles #2) by Jay Kristoff

I just need to read all of Jay Kristoff’s books but I suppose if I read them all I wouldn’t have anything to read while waiting for his next release. I really do need to read this though especially since “Darkdawn” releases this year now, such a fantastic series!

Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney

I was so pumped for this and actually had it on hold at my library (which took forever because everyone wanted to read it!) until it went on sale for Kindle so I bought it instead. I just didn’t get a chance to read it which stinks because this thriller has great reviews and I think it’ll be really addicting and full of twists!

The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas

I absolutely LOVE Kara Thomas’s books, they’re always so engaging and full of super shocking twists! So of course I couldn’t wait to read her latest but just didn’t get the chance, hopefully I can sneak it in this year because she never disappoints.

Children of Blood & Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

This book was super hyped and as far as I can tell, for good reason. It sounds like a super exciting and unique YA fantasy, can’t wait to finally jump on this bandwagon!

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

I will admit that this book sounds really good BUT what really got to me was all the hype. This is probably one of the most hyped books I’ve seen in a while and I’m definitely curious to see what it’s all about! I’m all for fantasies with twists!

Vengeful (Villains #2) by V.E. Schwab

I CAN’T BELIEVE I HAVEN’T READ THIS YET! I actually pre-ordered this and I almost never pre-order and yet it sits there unread! I definitely have to make time for this one in 2019 because ‘Vicious’ is one of my all time favorites and I can’t wait to dive back into this world Schwab created.

You’ve probably already hear this but The Cruel Prince is really good! and I also love Kara Thomas but I felt a little disappointed by The Cheerleader, I hope you enjoy it much more than I did though!!💕😊

Obsidio and TCP were so good! I still need to read Godsgrave, too. I’m rereading Nevernight right now to get ready for it!

Vengeful, Obsidio and The Poppy War are also on my TBR!

I was a bit disappointed with The Cheerleaders (even though I really enjoyed her previous book) and I hope you’ll enjoy The Cruel Prince when you pick it up, because so far I’m obsessed with the series😊.

I ended up reading Vengeful and The Cruel Prince this month, it’s later than what I expected, but the stories did not disappoint! I still haven’t read the Poppy War yet, but it’s on my priority list this year 😀

From your list, I really wanted to read The Cruel Prince because of the hype and the fact that the second book came out at the start of January… I still haven’t read either! From my own list: I kept telling myself I would read Shadow and Bone in 2018, but somehow it kept getting overlooked.

I read and really enjoyed Children of Blood and Bone.
