I didn’t get much reading done in September or October but at least I’m getting back to posting! I just need to start reading books I KNOW will suck me right in, I guess! So I guess let’s get into this short and sweet wrap up.
Books Read: 2
I enjoyed both of these books and “Wonderland” was a bit of a surprise since I wasn’t expecting it to be as enjoyable as it was. Definitely a great book if you love horror and ‘Alice in Wonderland’, plus an anthology is always fun in my opinion! I also really liked “Sleepless”, the world building was interesting and the plot pulled me right along although I will say the art was a bit off for me.
“The Haunting of Ashburn House” was my favorite by far though, actually its one of my favorite reads of the year! The writing just pulls you along and it was terrifying!

For some reason I just cannot get into “His Hideous Heart” which is the oddest thing since I love Edgar Allan Poe and this is a series of retellings. There’s just something about the stories that aren’t quite grabbing my attention. Same thing with “Sea Witch Rising”, I’m enjoying it but it’s a bit too slow to fully grab me.

Great wrap up, Heather! I think I have Wonderland on my goodreads TBR shelf but it’s been so long since I added it so I didn’t really remember about it. It’s great to hear you’re enjoying it! 🙂
October was a great reading month for me, I joined a readathon and managed to read all the books on my TBR! It’s definitely a good thing because it kicked my slump away 😀

I’ve got The Haunting of Ashburn House but didn’t manage to get to it in October. However, hearing its one of your favourites of the year definitely pushes it up my TBR. Thank you!
