Three (extremely random and weird)  Facts About Me

  1. I have recently become obsessed with playing Dungeons & Dragons (It’s cool!)
  2. I really, really, really love sloths
  3. If I could cover every part of myself in glitter all of the time I’d do it

Jessica’s Questions

Who is your ultimate OTP/book boyfriend/book girlfriend?

Well…..since this was NOT book specific I’m 100% going with Aragorn and Arwen because I would fight anyone and everyone who tried to break up this OTP!

What is one book/series you can’t love without?

Okay well besides the obvious choice of Harry Potter I’ll go with The Hobbit because without it I wouldn’t have the perfection that is called Middle Earth.

Any pet peeves?

Let’s see….

Image result for crowley list gif

Dog-earring book pages, people who chew with their mouths open, & people who talk loudly in the movie theater. (THERE ARE SO MANY MORE TOO!)

What is one thing you’d like to accomplish before the end of this year?

Maybe take out a significant chunk of my enormous TBR……that’d be great.

Weird: Why did the chicken actually cross the road? (get as creative as you’d like with your response)

The chicken crossed the road to escape my futile attempts to pet it.

Emily’s Questions

What is your favorite opening sentence from a book?

“People often shit themselves when they die” – Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

Not only do I find this the most hilarious first sentence ever I feel it sets the tone of the story pretty well right away too.

Who is your favorite villain from a book?

AIDAN from “Illuminae” by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

What is the first book to make you cry?

I honestly don’t remember that far back but probably “The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe” by C.S. Lewis which I read in 4th grade and absolutely blubbered like a baby because of a certain death…… ya’ll should know if you’ve read this book too!

Favorite book cover?

Image result for and the trees crept in

Random. If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what movie would you choose?

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Amy’s Questions

Why did you start a blog?

Because of course I love books and wanted a way to share my bookish thoughts and feelings, especially since no one I know is even remotely into books the way I am!

What are you most proud of in your life?

Nothing major but I suppose in all honesty I’m proud of the fact that I’m not some horrible child to my parents, that I didn’t get all into drugs or other messed up things and made them want to disown me. Kind of a weird answer but that’s true.

What’s the last film you watched and did you enjoy it?

I think the last movie (not TV show) I watched was Kong: Skull Island and it was pretty good, mostly action.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

Teleportation, because I’m a lazy sack of crap who wants to be able to skip the travel part of things and go where I want when I want.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I actually really dread these kinds of questions because the honest answer is I don’t know, I go with the flow. I supposed I hope to at least be married in 5 years and traveling.

  1. What is your favorite game to play? (physical, board, card, video, any kind!)

  4. What book are you looking forward to the most in 2017?

Book Fangirling Award

lifetime(4)

I was tagged to do this award by Raquel at Rakioddbooks and Michelle at Book Adventures, thank you both so much for the nomination! Be sure to click the links to check out their answers and blogs as well, guys!

The Rules:

  •  Create a post to accept your reward.
  •  Answer the questions at the end.
  • Nominate 5 – 10 bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
  • Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.

my page divider

Raquel’s Questions:

1.) If you could turn a book into a drink, which book would you choose and into what drink?

I’m going to be semi-unoriginal and say I’d turn “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” into a mug of Butterbeer. I’m lame and have never tried it, it makes me really sad thinking about it but when I DO get my hands on some it will be glorious.

2.) If you had to coordinate your makeup or clothes to a book cover, which book and how?

I’m terrible at these kinds of things but I’ figure I’d do “The Winner’s Curse” with a pink ruffle shirt, black sparkly pants, and a dagger necklace. I couldn’t decide on nice boots by they’d be boots. (Seriously, I’m not a big clothes person. Forgive me!)

3.) If you were transported into a book and were able to interact with book characters, which character do you think would be more likely to accept the fact that they’re not “real”?

Well obviously I’d like to go to Middle-Earth but I do think there’s a couple characters that would be able to handle news of their fictitious state. Gandalf being the main one, he’s so wise and powerful he probably already knows…….

4.) Which movie do you wish was turned into a book.

This is kind of a hard one seeing as movies I usually like do already have some sort of bookish format (graphic novels, comic books, etc.), but I’d probably have to go with The Mummy. There’s too many movies I love that aren’t books but The Mummy has been a loooooooong time favorite of mine (if not all time favorite) and all of that action and adventure would make for a great book.

(by the way this is just my favorite gif ever….so much derp and badass all in one)

5.) If you could eat a book, which book would you eat and what would it taste like?

The Wrath & the Dawn (The Wrath & the Dawn, #1)

I would eat “The Wrath & The Dawn” and it would taste like cotton candy because it’s super sweet, lots of fluff, and is just downright delicious and awesome!

my page divider

Michelle’s Questions:

1. What has been your favorite read so far this year?

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)

I’ve read a couple really awesome ones but “Illuminae” is definitely the best one so far! It was just non-stop twists and turns, I couldn’t stop reading.

2. You’re favorite piece of Bookish Merchandise?

I really don’t have any bookish merchandise to be honest, it’s kind of embarrassing. So I guess I’ll just go with my two Game of Thrones Funko Pops and my Cheshire Cat pillow that says “We’re All Mad Here”.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

3. If you had to coordinate your makeup or clothes to a book cover, which book and how?

Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)

Once again, not great at this. I’ll do a look for “Six of Crows”: Red off the shoulder top, black leather pants, cute red/black boots, with a black crow necklace.

4.  If you can eat a book, which book would you eat and what would it taste like?

See #5 Above. (Sorry Michelle, I had a hard enough time thinking up one book :/ )

5. Who is your ultimate book boyfriend/girlfriend?

Honestly none really stick out a ton but there are a few that I like more than the average character…..

Well I feel like I’d be creepy if I said Magnus Chase from “The Sword of Summer”, something about that blonde hair……

So in the hopes of not being creepy, I’ll say George Weasley from the Harry Potter series, he’s just so cute and funny. I’m a sucker for a good sense of humor.

I feel bad picking one twin over the other but if I can have both I won’t complain……

my page dividerMy Questions:

1.) What is your favorite childhood novel?

2.) What is your favorite OTP (One True Pairing)?

3.) If you could make one book series into a TV show, which would it be?

4.) Favorite literary pet/animal?

5.) Your favorite lesser known book or series?

Blog Award: Liebster Award

bog award

I was nominated for this award by Grace at Quirky and Peculiar and also Shivalika at Whimsy Journals! Thank you both so much for nominating me and sorry it took me so long to do this post, I have a TON of tags and awards to do still. Make sure you, readers, check out these ladies’ lovely blogs too!

liebster-award

The Rules:

(This award is given to smaller bloggers to help gain recognition and also bring the book community closer together.)

  1. Acknowledge the blog(s) that nominated you and display the award.
  2. Answer the 11 questions that the blog gives you.
  3. Give 11 random facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate 5-11 blogs that you think are deserving of the award that have less than 200 followers.
  5. Let the blogs know you have nominated them.
  6. Give them 11 questions to answer.

(Both Grace’s and Shivalika’s rules for this award differed so I just went with Shivalika’s since hers had one more question than Grace’s. Also I no longer qualify for this award since I do have 200 followers, just so you all know now I can’t be nominated anymore! Big thanks to all of you followers too, love you guys!)

Also since I got nominated twice I will be answering 21 questions plus 11 random facts about myself…this will be a long-ass post.

my page divider

Grace’s Questions:

1.) If you could become an author, would you?

Oh definitely, I love reading and I love writing and I’m decent at both. Well I like to think so anyways. It would be a lot of hard work and a lot of time consumed if I tried, I’m just not that serious about it to try though.

2.) Are you a fan of sports? Watching? Playing?

Not playing, that’s for sure, I royally suck at sports and I get super nervous to participate in any because of it. I hated gym class for that reason alone, kind of like stage fright.

I am a very casual fan though, my two favorite sports would be baseball and American football. (Minnesota Twins & Green Bay Packers) I say casual because I watch whenever I feel like it and don’t follow them closely.

3.) If you could live anywhere in the world but never leave your house (there). Where would you live?

Well if I can never leave the house I’m hoping it’s at least a nice one. So I’d probably want to live in London, England. My Great-Grandmother was from there and I at least know how to speak English. It would be the most realistic option for me and I would just straight up love it.

4.) What are your favorite kind of shoes?

Depends on the season for me really because I love flip flops because then I don’t have to worry about finding socks. I hate socks. Then in when it’s too cold I LOVE wearing boots. So I guess I’d have to just go with flip flops because there’s no fuss, you just slip them on.

5.) If you could use time travel to go to one place in time where would it be? Why?

Ummmmm……well I’m gonna assume I can go anywhere as well as when so I’ll say the 1650’s Caribbean. Even more specific, probably Nassau. Ya know because…..pirates.

6.) What is your dream car/vehicle?

Easy. 1967 Chevy Impala. You know why.

7.) What would you change about the internet if you could?

Probably less trolls and rude people. Which would never happen but I can dream.

8.) What is something that you wish existed but doesn’t?

In general: magic.

More specific: lightsabers.

9.) If you could become anything in the world what would it be?

The Dovahkiin because of reasons. Also for those of you who don’t know….I’m talking about Skyrim. (I also really love this gif)

10.) What’s your all time favorite book character? Why?

Fred and George Weasley, I can’t have one without the other. I’m going with them because I’ve been reading Harry Potter since I was a kid and I’ve known these characters the longest. Plus they’re just my all time favorites.

my page divider

Shivalika’s Questions:

1.) Your favorite chocolate?

Cadbury, I get that from my great-grandma who also loved it and was also British. Nothing sucks more than being an American and loving Cadbury because I can never get the ones I want!

2.) Your favorite color?

I’m always really up in the air about this one but I’ll go with green, matches my eyes.

3.) Your favorite flower?

Stargazer lilies, but really I love all lily flowers. Plus lily is kind of fun to say.

4.) Your favorite street food?

Hot dogs. That counts as a street food right? I don’t know! I love hot dogs though, smothered in onions of course.

5.) Your current favorite book?

Ooooooo, current. “Illuminae” by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. You can check my review out here if you wanna know why!

6.) Current favorite TV series?

“Black Sails”. Why you may ask? Pirates. (I think you may have guessed by know but I love pirates). Also many a-hot man.

7.) Most played song on your playlist?

Ummm….I actually don’t know but let’s just guess that it’s probably a Fall Out Boy song.

8.) Would you prefer an indifferent hero or a villain who loves you?

DEFINITELY a villain who loves me! Because love and because most villains are drop dead sexy!

Exhibit A: Loki

Exhibit B: Magneto (Well YOUNG Magneto anyways)

And there are definitely many others, for sure. My point is: I’d go with the villain.

9.) Pizza or pasta?

I think maybe you guys already know this but PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA!!!

10.) A sea side hideaway or a cottage tucked in mountains?

This is sort of a tough one since I’d really just like either one but I’ll go with cottage in the mountains.

11.) Leonardo DiCaprio or Chris Hemswoth?

MY GOD! SHIVALIKA, WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME LIKE THIS?

But I think I’ll just have to go with Leo, I’ve admired him longer and have pretty much all of his movies.

11 Random Facts About Me:

  1. I love RPG video games, mostly of the fantasy kind such as Skyrim and Dragon Age.
  2. I LOVE classic rock music, which is a problem for me since nobody else really does. And it’s a HARDCORE obsession too. (AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and Motley Crue being my favorites)
  3. I’ve always wanted a horse and my parents never got me one which makes no sense since I’ve lived out in the country my whole life.
  4. I used to try and play Quidditch out in my yard when I was younger (probably like 10 maybe) by using an assortment of sports balls and my mom’s broom. (I was so cool)
  5. I love stealing people’s hoodies. (I know, I’m awful)
  6. I HATE spending large sums of money, I seriously start getting anxious. By the way anything over $100, pretty much stresses me out and I don’t know why.
  7. I hate playing Monopoly, everyone always kicks my ass at it too (I just suck at it, who likes playing stuff they suck at? Not me.)
  8. I mentioned this in one of my answers already but I HATE wearing socks. It’s a hassle for me, I hate having to find them and put them on when I could just slip my shoes on.
  9. I like collecting blankets….I have a blanket hoarding issue. They’re just so pretty and sooooft that I have to have them! Especially if they have my favorite characters or stuff on them!
  10. I also have a massive collection of movies (I have run out of room for them all) and I’ve lost count of how many I own. But it’s got to be around 300-400 at least, just a guess. (I honestly could be in danger of being a hoarder if I didn’t like organizing all of these things so much).
  11. I have a pretty new found interest in anime, it’s all my boyfriend watches pretty much so I gave it a shot and liked it. I would say my 3 favorites are Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, and Attack on Titan. I have only seen a few episodes of Naruto so don’t talk to me about it because I’m a noob at it still and Netflix didn’t have like the last 3 episodes of FMA so I haven’t seen the end. :p

my page divider

My Questions:

  1. Who is your favorite super hero and why?
  2. What is your favorite fictional world, besides Hogwarts? (Sorry but that’s probably a majority of people’s answers and I want you to think outside the box, I know I’m evil)
  3. What’s your favorite book that got turned into a movie/TV series?
  4. What is your favorite sea creature?
  5. Would you rather rid the world of “Fifty Shades of Gray” or “Twilight”?
  6. Tom Hiddleston or Chris Evans? (Because Shivalika gave me more evil ideas for questions)
  7. What is your favorite kind of soda? If you don’t drink soda then what is your favorite drink?
  8. What is your favorite snack/food that didn’t originate in your country?
  9. Who is your favorite actor and your favorite actress?
  10. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
  11. What is your favorite movie/TV show theme song?

1.) Who is your ultimate fictional boyfriend/girlfriend?

There’s so many and so few all at the same time. Ummmmmmmm. I think I’d have to go with Dean Winchester because I had a fictional crush on him for the longest time ever.

If we’re talking BOOK fictional boyfriend, I might have to go with George Weasley….or maybe Fred Weasley. I loved both the twins a lot when I read through Harry Potter. Is it so wrong to love both?

2.) If you could speak any language (fictional languages included), which language would you speak?

It’s really a tie between Tolkien Elvish and Dothraki, probably more towards the Elvish….I’m a big Middle-Earth fan. Although I do have a Dothraki language book so realistically I can speak that easier since I have a guide…I’m just kind of lazy.

3.) Do you let people borrow your books?

Sometimes. It really depends on the person, if I know they love books and respect people’s property I’ll lend them some because I know they’ll be taken care of. Other than that though, hell no. In high school I lent a book to a classmate that wasn’t a close friend and my book got trashed, that’s when I really learned my lesson.

4.) Approximately how many books do you physically own?

Physically you say? Hm, excuse me while I refer to Goodreads instead of actually counting said books….

Physical Book Estimation: Around 179, and that’s not including my boxes of hand-me-down books from my mother or my countless Nancy Drew books as well as random non-fiction books. So if we added all of those you’re looking at maybe 250. Maybe.

Freebie, Nook/Kindle Owned Books: About 52

5.) Which genre do you read the least?

Romance and or contemporary. Sorry I just can’t do it, I’m a very un-romancey person. I like fantasy where I can hide in fictional worlds instead of facing the sometimes boring reality of the real-world.

Except you know…with books instead of sand.

Plus I just really don’t like romances and reading about real-life problems. It’s boring. Why read about that when I can read about DRAGONS and shit?

6.) If you could have any job in the world, what would it be and why?

I reject your reality and substitute it with my own, I’d want to be the Dovahkiin. That’s definitely a job. The job is ridding Tamriel of dragons, well…..bad dragons. Like Alduin, and pretty much whooping ass.

7.) What is one book you refuse to read?

This is an easy question, while there are books I don’t want to read but still consider there is definitely ONE book I will never read.

“Fifty Shades of Grey”

8.) And the most controversial question of the century: pancakes or waffles?

Hands down, pancakes. I don’t even know why, it’s just the way it is.

2.) Do you prefer to borrow books or buy them and why?

Loreva’s Questions

1.) Which TV shows do you watch?

I don’t really watch TV a whole lot because I just feel I don’t have a ton of extra time for it……but I do have a ton of shows I LOVE! Supernatural, Black Sails, Firefly, Sons of Anarchy, True Blood, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones (obviously), and Orange is the New Black.

I have NOT finished all of these shows so no spoilers please!

2.) What was the first book you ever read and was it the book that sparked your interest in reading?

Honestly I have no idea, I don’t remember any of the children’s books I had when I was 6 or 7. The only book I remember reading for the first time was “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”. So yes the Harry Potter series DEFINITELY sparked my interest in reading!

3.) Which do you prefer: Reading or Writing?

Reading hands down, but I do really love writing as well. When I was in the 3rd and 4th grades I won a writing contest, I was pretty proud. My stories were about….horses. I had a problem, I REALLY loved horses.

4.) Which is your favorite season, reading wise?

Summer. I get to take my hammock out, sit in it, and read. Well as long as it isn’t way too hot outside…..

5.) What bookish challenges are you going to attempt next year?

Besides the Goodreads reading challenge? No idea. I’m still super new to the book blogging community and I’m not really aware of any other challenges sooooooo. If you guys have any suggestions I’d love to hear them!

6.) How do you arrange your bookshelf (color, genre, author etc)?

Do you want the honest answer? I don’t. Mostly I put them wherever I feel like it and of course keep all of a series together. I suppose I sort by author though.

7.) What was the last book you read? Did you like it?

“Soundless” by Richelle Mead and no I didn’t like it. Sorry my review is taking a while! I’ve been busy with the impending holidays but hopefully it’ll be up soon!

8.) Have you ever been on vacation outside the borders of your continent?

No unfortunately I have not. I’m hoping maybe one day I can though, I have distant relatives who live in England and I’d love to go there!

9.) Are you interested in any musical instruments or sports?

Hell no to the sports I am the polar opposite of a sporty person. I did take guitar lessons for a while but I am in no way a guitar player and I also played the flute in my high school band. I rocked the flute not the guitar. It’s funny how that happened……

10.) What is your usual reading time?

Honestly, whenever I get time. Mostly anywhere between 6:00-10:00 at night though.

Ashley’s Questions

1.) What has been your favorite read of the year?

I’m just going to say it’s a tie between “A Darker Shade of Magic” by V.E. Schwab and “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness. I really cannot choose.

2.) What is your favorite food?

Pizza, not even any competition there.

3.) What is your favorite social media website?

Pinterest. I have a severe Pinterest addiction…. I have over 62,000 pins and over 27,000 followers….so yeah.

4.) Do you have any other blogs?

Nope! Just The Sassy Book Geek!

5.) What’s your favorite holiday?

Halloween hands down! Seriously there’s no competition there at all, just like pizza.

6.) Who are one of your favorite ships?

I’m not really a shipper but I’ll have to say Aragorn and Arwen from “The Lord of the Rings”. I could ship them all day long. This ship is my top favorite out of all of my minor ships.

7.) What and where is your favorite bookstore?

Where I live we pretty much have zero bookstores, we recently got a new one but it isn’t very big. So when I go visiting family in Wisconsin I seize the opportunity to go to Books-A-Million! Definitely my favorite bookstore.

8.) Do you have any pets? If yes, what kind and what is/are their name(s)?

I actually had a dog named Duchess but she passed away at the beginning of this month, it’s definitely taking some time to get used to not having a dog anymore when people ask these questions…..But I also have two tremendously derpy cats named Oscar and Mittens. Seriously the word derp describes them perfectly.

9.) What’s your favorite Christmas-themed book?

I can’t even think of any remotely Christmas related right now, I don’t do Christmas books. Christmas isn’t my favorite holiday whatsoever, so it makes sense to me NOT to read Christmas themed books. Sorry!

10.) What book do you love recommending to people?

Even though I recently finished reading and reviewing it I love recommending “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness. Seriously if you haven’t read it do it. Do it now!

Michelle’s Questions

1.) Favorite book you’ve read in 2015?

Once again I’m picking “A Darker Shade of Magic” by V.E. Schwab and “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness.

2.) Best movie you’ve seen in 2015?

I’m going to say “Ant-Man”, I really love Marvel movies and they’re always fantastic.

3.) Are you going to participate in any reading challenges in 2016?

No idea, I procrastinate that kind of stuff. It’s not something I’m thinking about right now.

4.) How many books are currently on your TBR-list?

247, which isn’t really THAT many considering how big other people’s TBRs are. Granted there’s stuff I want to read that I haven’t added to it yet officially. Either way I’m OK with it growing.

5.) How many books do you want to read next year?

I think I’ll shoot for AT LEAST 50 books, this year I started my Goodreads challenge in July so I had to aim low with 35.

6.)  If you could have one fictional animal as your pet, which one would it be?

Well I’d say a Phoenix would be pretty sweet but I’m not sure how well that would blow over. As a back up fictional animal pet I’d just want a cat that talks. Talking cats would be cool…..

7.) What was the last book you’ve read? Would you recommend it, why or why not?

“Soundless” by Richelle Mead and no I wouldn’t, I’m not really going to go in depth. It was just disappointing. If you’re really curious you’ll just have to wait for my review to come up. Sorry!

8.) If you could date a fictional character who would you date and why?

I don’t really know if I’d want to actually. My real, non-fictional boyfriend is pretty great. So for the sake of the question though I’d just pick Dimitri from the Vampire Academy series, just because he’s pretty badass.

9.) If you could pick any three books to have right now, what would you choose?

“Nimona” by Noelle Stevenson, “The Traitor Baru Cormorant” by Seth Dickinson, & “Half the World” by Joe Abercrombie.

10.) What bookish gift would you like to receive this Christmas (that’s not a book)?

Hm, I don’t know of anything really. I’d be cool with anything Middle Earth related does that count?

my page divider

My Questions:

7 Facts About Me That May or May Not Be Interesting

(I’m seriously running out of facts for these blog awards!)

  1. I have trouble managing my leisure time, I need to balance it between books and video games. For example all day yesterday instead of reading (like I was supposed to) I spent all day playing Tomb Raider.
  2. Have I mentioned that my favorite food is pizza yet? I forget what I’ve told you guys! But seriously I could eat pizza all day every day…..
  3. I have some trouble with anxiety, mostly when I’m in new places or around large crowds. I wouldn’t wish anxiety on my worst enemy, it truly is a horrible thing to experience.
  4. I have a small obsession with camouflage. If I see camouflage on something I will more than likely want it.
  5. I have an obsession with the Mass Effect trilogy of video games….
  6. I think I’ve mentioned before my favorite animal is a tie between a horse and an elephant, but my favorite mythical animal is definitely a dragon.
  7. One of my all time favorite TV shows is “Firefly”, seriously the BEST show ever and it’s cancelled.

Thank you to Alysyn over at Rein Reads for nominating me for the Beautiful Blogger Award! Make sure you guys head over there and check out her awesome blog.

Rules:

  1. Link to the blogger who nominated you

  3. Nominate seven creative, beautiful bloggers, and notify them

Seven Facts About Me:

  1. My favorite Disney movie is “Peter Pan”.
  2. When I was little I had this unusually, obsessive interest with Ancient Egypt. I seriously read random stuff about it for the longest time, why? I have no idea, I just thought it was cool.
  3. I am in love with watching horror movies and my favorite classic is “Friday the 13th”.
  4. I’ve been to 6 concerts: AC/DC, Motley Crue, and Jason Aldean. Also I’ve seen a local(ish) classic rock tribute band called Hairball 3 times, they dress up and do songs from every major rock band. *whispers* I really like rock music.
  5. If I had unlimited amounts of time or I could freeze time, I would just use it to read more and play more video games. Most people think that’s a waste of time but really that’s all I’d want to do
  6. I say “Uff Da” a lot more than I probably should (wanna know what Uff Da means? Here’s a link)
  7. I don’t really watch any TV at all, if I wanna watch a TV show I either wait for it to come out on DVD/Bluray or Netflix.

The Original Questions:

1.) If you could meet anyone throughout history, who and why?

Probably J.R.R. Tolkien because I am in love with his creation Middle Earth, I would love to just sit and discuss the magical world he created.

2.) What is your favorite book and why?

I really am incapable of picking one favorite book but I might just have to go with “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien. Because as I stated in the previous question I am a total Middle Earth fangirl.

3.) Who is your favorite fiction character from any medium and why?

Once again picking just one is absolutely terribly challenging. I’m going to say that either Iago from Shakespeare’s “Othello” or (predictably) Gandalf from “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings”.

Iago is my all time favorite book villain, he’s deliciously clever and wicked and Gandalf is probably the wisest and most badass character in the history of literature. That’s just my opinion though!

Ariana’s Questions:

1.) Do you prefer series or standalones?

I adore both but I’d have to say I’d rather read a standalone. Series are great because you get extended adventure but I hate waiting around for all of the books to come out for the series and I really just like reading one full book that ends satisfyingly.

2.) If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be and why?

Middle Earth, hands down. I don’t think I needed to tell you guys that by now right? It’s my absolute favorite fictional place and I’d love to hang out with every character and fight orcs. That’s right I said it, I wanna go there and fight orcs with Aragorn, Legolas, & Gimli.

3.) What book or series would you recommend to someone who says they don’t like to read, and why would you choose that book or series?

Harry Potter is a pretty obvious choice as well as a good one, otherwise I’d say the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series by Rick Riordan or maybe the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness.

Michelle’s Questions:

1.) Are you a fangirl of any book? Which is it and why?

“The Hobbit” and I stated why in pretty much every other question on here, haha. I’m a big fan of Middle Earth, period.

2.) If you could go into any bookstore with an unlimited budget, which five books would you walk out with?

As of right now I’d choose:

  • “Wolf by Wolf” by Ryan Graudin
  • “The Monstrumologist” by Rick Yancey
  • “Daughters Unto Devils” by Amy Lukavics
  • “The Traitor Baru Cormorant” by Seth Dickinson
  • “Wake of Vultures” by Lila Bowen

3.) Choose three characters from your favorite novel and play Marry, Kiss, & Kill.

Well I’ll do Harry Potter characters: George Weasley, Oliver Wood, and Dolores Umbridge.

I would marry George, kiss Oliver, and of course kill Umbridge.

Kind of a loaded question since I could choose my own characters, haha.

Blog Awards: The Infinity Dreams Award

infinity dreams award

I was nominated for this lovely award by Nika over at Nika’s Reading List, head on over there and check out her blog!

RULES:
  1. Thank and follow the blog that nominated you.
  2. Tell us 11 facts about yourself.
  3. Answer the questions that were set for you to answer.
  4.  Nominate 11 bloggers and set questions for them.

11 Totally Random Facts About Me:

  1. I enjoy talking a lot, seriously once you get me going it’s hard for me to shut up.
  2. When I was in the 3rd and 4th grades I won my school’s writing contest! I wrote some short stories about horses, I really like horses obviously.
  3. My favorite Shakspeare play is “Othello” and Iago was my favorite character.
  4. I have a weird pen fetish, I like REALLY nice pens and I buy them all the time.
  5. I hate Walmart with a burning passion, no offense to anybody who likes that store but it’s not for me. I’d much rather do ALL shopping at Target.
  6. At one point in time my brother owned a pet peacock, it was really awesome and odd at the same time. Peacocks are odd creatures.
  7. I hate the sport of basketball and I’d much rather watch football (American Football) or baseball. I love the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Twins. I LOATH the Minnesota Vikings. I’m all messed up with my allegiances aren’t I ?
  8. I own TWO e-readers, a Nook Color and a Kindle Paperwhite. One day my Nook decided to be a little shit and not work at all and so I went and bought the new Kindle Paperwhite and then magically the Nook decided to work again. Little shit.
  9. I can play the flute and a little bit of guitar. I had two years of guitar lessons pretty much and I can barely play. Kind of embarrassing.
  10. I find it very difficult to write this many facts about myself. That’s a fact.
  11. If I could pick any car to own I’d want the latest model of Chevrolet’s Camaro.

Nika’s Questions:

1.) What is the longest book you ever read?

“A Storm of Swords” by George R.R. Martin, which is the 3rd book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. It’s also actually my favorite book in the series so far.

2.) Do you prefer male of female characters?

I don’t have a preference but since I find I read SO many books with female protagonists, I find it very refreshing to read one with a male for a change.

3.) What’s your favorite classic book?

“Dracula” by Bram Stoker, it’s the only classic I wasn’t forced to read in school plus it’s a horror book.

4.) The movie adaptation of the book is out. If you read the book and liked it, will you watch a movie too?

Heck yes! If I find out there’s a movie coming out that’s based on a book I will go get that book and read it first regardless if I liked it or not. I know, I’m weird.

5.) Where and when do you usually read books?

At my house usually after I’m done with work at 5:00, I like to sit in my bed actually when I read.

6.) If you would have the option to put your name as an author to any book in the world which would this book be?

I most definitely would LOVE to claim George R.R. Martin’s book series “A Song of Ice and Fire”.

7.) Do you write or underline in your books?

NO! I hate to deface my books like that, I need them in perfect shape or I’ll die on the inside.

8.) Is there any particular book you reread multiple times?

Nope, I have too many other unread books to have time to reread any. Although I’ve been thinking recently I would love to reread Richelle Mead’s “Vampire Academy” series and actually review them this time.

9.) If someone wants to borrow a book from you, do you lend it?

Most definitely not, I learned that lesson the hard way when my books started coming back completely bent and out of the shape I like them in. I only borrow books to two people and one is my best friend Stephanie who treats books properly and my cousin Jenna who also cares for my books properly. Anyone else will have to gain my trust.

10.) Is there any particular book or book topic that you refuse to read?

I’ll answer both of these. I refuse to read “The Selection” series, I’m sorry to anybody who enjoys them but I just can’t read them especially after I heard some of the crap the author said on Twitter etc. And as far as a topic in a book I refuse to read any romance books, yes that’s a genre but I’m using it to answer this question. I just don’t like romance, sorry!

11.) How long ago did you start writing a blog?

I started in August of this year! So I’m very new still but I’m loving it so far!

My Nominees (Sorry I just don’t follow that many blogs to do 11 people):

Ariana @ The Quirky Book Nerd

Michelle @ Book Adventures

Blog Awards: Real Neat Blog Award Nomination

real neat blog award

I was nominated for this award by Michelle over at Book Adventures, and seriously guys I’m just going to keep telling you to go check out her blog until you do it. Give into this peer pressure!

The Rules:

  1. Thank and link the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Answer the seven questions the nomination has provided.
  3. Nominate 7 other bloggers.
  4. Create seven questions for your nominees.

Michelle’s Questions:

1.) Favorite season and why? (What do you love about it)

I’m going to say Fall is my favorite season because it’s not hot as shit outside and it’s not freezing cold out either. It’s the perfect temperature. Plus my FAVORITE holiday Halloween is during the fall!

2.) Coffee or Tea? (And How Do You Like It?)

Tea all the way! Coffee doesn’t stand a chance against tea! There’s actually two ways I like my tea: Iced tea with sugar and hot tea with nothing. If I’m drinking my tea hot I like it straight but sometimes I’ll do cream and sugar.

3.) If You Could Spend a Month of Your Life in a TV Series – What Series Would You Choose and What Character Would You Be?

I’m assuming I can’t die and that I can gender bend characters!

I’m going to cheat and give two different answers because I can’t decide. First off I’d want to be in “Supernatural” and I’d want to be Dean, BUT I hate how heartbreaking that show can be sometimes and I don’t really want to go through that for a month.

So in case I don’t feel like being emotionally scarred I’d want to be Captain Flint in “Black Sails” because pirates are badass.

4.) What Book Would You Love to Find Under Your Christmas Tree This Year?

Well I usually go buy books myself instead of waiting….because I’m impatient, but I suppose I’d want to see either “Da Vinci’s Tiger” by L.M. Elliot or “Soundless” by Richelle Mead under the tree this year! That is if I don’t go buy them before then.

5.) Savory or Sweet – and what is your favorite snack from that category?

I’m not really one for sweets a whole bunch so I’m going to go with savory. I can’t really pinpoint my exact favorite in that category but I’m going to go with any form of chips really, I can sit and eat a ton of chips. My favorites would be pringles probably.

6.) If you can be an author for one day, who would you be?

I’d be George R.R. Martin hands down! Then I could be in his head and FINALLY know what will happen in “Winds of Winter”!!!!!! Or at least force him to write it and then I’d know when to expect the book to be released.

7.) If you could have any superpower, what would you pick and why?

I’d probably want Magneto’s powers from X-Men, and be able to control all metal. There’s metal in a lot of shit guys, I’d be able to do a lot of stuff with it. Like abuse my superpower to get through traffic faster.

Annnnnd once again I won’t be nominating anyone until the last blog award post for today, sorry I’m lazy! I refuse to write two sets of questions today and I don’t even have that many people to nominate in the first place.
